A+ Learning Solutions is looking for high quality tutors to work for our program, that provides tutoring to elementary school students who come from low income homes and who are struggling with reading/language arts and math. We are only looking for serious applicants who want to work with students in order to help them increase their reading and math skills and scores. We need someone who can start ASAP!
All tutoring is outside of normal school hours and is usually in the afternoon, evening, and may be on weekends in some cases. Most tutoring is done one on one in student homes or public libraries, or in small groups at school after school.
We provide the materials required. Tutoring is usually two to three times a week for 1-2 hours.
We are looking for someone to do tutoring at school after school in Ottumwa with two small groups. The at school tutoring is with two students at James E.S. (2nd and 3rd grades, both subjects, Wednesdays and Fridays 3-4:45) and two students at Wilson E.S. (1st and 3rd grades in reading/language arts, Mondays and Tuesdays 3-4:45).
A+ Learning Solutions provides tutoring to eligible Title-I schools, which are funded through NCLB. (SES: Supplemental Educational Services)

Our pay rate is based on your level of education:
Bachelors Degree or higher: A base of $20/hr plus an extra $7.50/hr per student (up to 5 students in a group).
At least 60 college credits/Associates: A base of $17/hr plus an extra $5/hr per student (up to 5 students in a group).
Requirements for tutors: At least 60 college credits and experience with teaching, tutoring or working with children. PLEASE ONLY apply if this applies to you.
**Please note that this is a part time seasonal job. The amount of work is based on student enrollment, and is only during the school year.
