About the Job

A national restaurant group headquartered in Washington State would like to hire an experienced brewer as Multi-Unit Brewery Leader. Leader will be responsible for the leadership of microbreweries in multiple states. Supervises all purchasing, training of brewers, sanitation and safety procedures while promoting beer through marketing and restaurant functions. Maintains the highest standards and aids in sourcing for all house beers and seasonal offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage production of house, seasonal, and specialty beers to standards
  • Evaluate and monitor beer and raw materials involved in brewing
  • Oversee and evaluate brewer team
  • Product forecasting
  • Supervise cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, tanks, and work areas to maintain consistent beer quality
  • Fundamental knowledge of plumbing and machinery mechanics/maintenance
  • Possess superior beer knowledge

Other Duties:

  • Hire, educate and train brewers right to advance and work at a level consistent with brewery production expectations
  • Train and test staff in beer knowledge
  • Participate in beer dinners and festivals, guest relations, and marketing/promotions/charitable events
  • Conduct brewery tours
  • Participate in guild affiliations

Job Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience as Head Brewer in a Brewery/Restaurant/Multi-Unit Leader
  • Ability to work and communicate well with staff, guests, other leaders, and outside parties
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and basic computer functions
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to problem solve and seek assistance as needed
  • Capable of speaking in front of groups of people as an instructor and representative of the company
  • Lead people and work well with other departments

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift 55 lbs. from ground to shoulder high
  • Lift 110 lbs. from ground to saist high and moving 150 lbs. along the floor
  • Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders up to or exceeding 20 times per day
  • Work in small and confined spaces
  • Read, write, and calculate basic algebra
