Great people with challenging projects
Business Analyst (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILJune 17, 2017
A.T. Kearney is a great alternative to traditional accounting firms due to the smaller size of the firm and the great company culture. Projects are very commonly sourcing in nature.

Good place to gain experience in certain areas
Consultant (Current Employee) –  New York, NYJune 15, 2017
Scope of work is limited, time to ramp up and create a network also limited, not enough resources devoted to providing support for junior consultants.
Pros
Great colleagues and collegial culture
Cons
Scope of work seems limited and future outlook appears questionable, at least in the short term

Great stepping stone for your career
Business Analyst (Current Employee) –  New York, NYMay 22, 2017
Overall a great working environment with opportunities for career development and mentorship. It is a great place to start your career, although work-life balance is often compromised and the firm follows an "up or out" structure with regard to career progress

Great place to learn quickly
Associate- Manager, Management Consulting (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILMarch 22, 2017
Highly competitive company that will give everyone an opportunity to learn about a broad array of business issues across many industries. Fantastic training programs and tools available to employees.

After leaving, it's apparent that reputation is entirely on Ops and Supply Chain, which is helpful in these career paths, but limiting if your actual experience and desired future is in other areas.

People are all very smart, but nearly all type A. Management should consider creating specialty tracks for people who are good Analysts and Associates, which will not promote these people to senior ranks. The skills required to be a good Associate are not the same as those required to be a Manager or Principal.
Pros
Profit sharing, learning, access to tools, compensation, low cost health care
Cons
Lots of challenging personalities, long hours

Good company to work for from a cultural stand point. Benefits are very good, with a good medical plan and some other perks.

Summer Associate (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CANovember 10, 2016
Cool people but due to nature of consulting job, there are ebb and flow of workload throughout the year hard to predict when you will be swamped and when you will be on the beach for months.

Overall great learning experience but have to work your way up to get client exposure opportunity

I interned in the accounting office of AT Kearney in Chicago. This company really knows how to take care of its employees and I would highly recommend. I do not have anything negative to say about this company.

Senior Research Analyst II (Former Employee) –  New DelhiFebruary 6, 2015
I enjoyed my stay at Kearney. Learned a host of things such as strategy planning and implementation, supply chain transformation and cost reduction. Best part was the high quality of people that always try to push the envelope.

Great Opportunity for Career Development - Needs to improve Brand Recognition
Sr. Management Consultant, Manufacturing Associate (Current Employee) –  atlanta, gaDecember 21, 2014
Place is loaded with super smart people who are very hard working and collaborative. ATK is a top tier firm that no one knows about. You'll learn a ton working here - especially about how to frame and approach business problems. Having the ATK name on your resume also helps. The issue is that people know about the McKinseys, Bains, and Pwc's, but not so much about ATK. Company needs to work much harder to be recognized amongst other top firms
Pros
Many many bright people, Learn to frame and approach business problems, collaborative environment, strong on client relationship building
Cons
Lack of diversity at the top (especially for blacks), Poor name recognition among other top tier consulting firms

Open environment where you need to make your way
Consultant (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILDecember 10, 2014
You need to balance the perks you may get from traveling on a routine basis with making time for yourself when at the client site, and making time for others when you are at home. It is also important to be aggressive in networking within the firm (and at other large firms) to get staffed on projects you are interested in doing.
