Working at ADP

  • Marines 1 day ago
I applied for a sales job with ADP and received a call from a lady and we talked for about 10 minutes. She said that she was going to have a manager call me as she was really impressed. I talked to her a couple of days later and was told that the job was on hold and that she said that I might be over qualified. So I applied to a higher sales job and they sent the generic leader saying they were using other candidates. I have more than 14 years of sales and management experience but I think the problem my be that I am 53 years old. Has anyone else had any problems like this as well? Thanks J.G.

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at ADP? Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers? What is a typical day in the life of an employee at ADP?

I am currently employed with ADP but haven't reached my 18 months yet. I would like to move to a different department or relocate altogether before my 18 months are up. I need to know the best way to do this as I would love to stay with ADP during this process. Should I resign and reapply with a different department? How long does the transfer process take if I wait out the 18 months? Can someone please help by providing some insight? Thanks.

I have been in business 2 business sales for my entire working career. I have led organizations in sales and in persistency. I have generated millions in revenue for the people I have contracted for. I was extremely interested in the Major Accounts Position and even spoke with the President of ADP's assistant. She forwarded my resume to the recruiter I spoke by phone to. That recruiter told me that I was over qualified for the position I was applying for. She said it in a complementary way. She told me she would forward it to the local manager. I was then told by email that ADP had decided to pursue a more qualified candidate. I was able to finally get the local manager to return my call. It was clear that the issue that he was rejecting me for was age. The Major Accounts Job has been advertised 2 more times, approximately 3 months apart. Apparently the "more qualified candidates" haven't stayed long enough to justify the training necessary for them to succeed. I have applied again, because the job is once again open. What should I do to get consideration for a position that might require a "over qualified" applicant?

I've accomplished so much in my sales career, however I've never really kept documentation of everything. I have an interview next Thursday and I need to bring one. I feel clueless on what to do. Any advice?
