SENIOR SPECIALIST-NETWORK SUPPORT (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILSeptember 19, 2017
CEO tells rank and file one thing and then does another like retraining current employees for new positions and then has mass layoff.

Above average pay and paid time off. Decent 401k match. Good flexibility of hours depending on organization.
Pros
Excellent pay, benefits, paid time off
Cons
high spouse copay

Iffy Management
Universal Agent (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLSeptember 19, 2017
The atmosphere is nice, I worked with great people but the management could have been a lot better. They would pick and choose who to be strict with and communicated poorly when laying people off
Pros
Works with school schedule
Cons
not good management

This is a fast pace high self motivated position. You have the ability to make a lot of money and they promote from within. The raises are good and they make sure their employees have what they need to succeed

Retail Sales Consultant (Current Employee) –  Audubon, NJSeptember 19, 2017
Working for Car-tel Communications isn't a bad idea. if you work hard you have an opportunity to make a lot of money. Overall not a bad place to work if you don't mind constant deductions for not selling Direct TV or hitting monthly and or quarterly goals.

Customer Service/Miami
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Miami, FLSeptember 19, 2017
It's a fun and very delightful place to go to every day.My co-workers makes it's fun and worth going to everyday, the management staff makes it an environment like a family. I enjoy working we have at least two lounges on each floor with television, ice machine, microwave and pool table. We have a lot of update and learning on a weekly, they make the objective very high unreachable.. The part I love is coming in taking the calls and being able to assist my customer with whatever they're calling for. I can help them and love that part and giving the best customer service, I know people just don't get that any more. I love doing the things that makes a difference.

At&t
Certified Call Center / Customer Service (Former Employee) –  N. Highlands, CASeptember 19, 2017
The good thing about AT&T is that we had the opportunity to learn how to handle multiple screens at one time. I did have some great co-workers that made the day easy to get through. The culture of the office was not in anyway inspiring or encouraging. Management was mean and disrespectful. There was and still is a very high turn over rate. Out of the 60 that were in my training class once we got on the floor in 2 weeks only 10 of us were still there.
Pros
good training
Cons
extremely bad atmospher

Trainer for Tier 2 Technical Support (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXSeptember 19, 2017
People could be fired at the drop of a hat. There is no real concern for the customer, just for the call center statistics. I hope I never have to work at a job like this again.
Pros
The pay was above average for the level of experience.
Cons
General treatment of employees was harsh.

Cancerous Environment
Manager (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILSeptember 19, 2017
AT&T often chooses poor leadership within the retail environment. You're often coached to lie to customers and direct reports and act against the strict ethics it preaches. Retail managers are overworked and underpaid, though that seems quite typical of retail in general. They tout "excellent" benefits that diminish quarter to quarter. AT&T truly only cares about its margins and not about those employed to achieve the margins. If you decide to work for AT&T, learn to lie and be deceitful to everyone around you as it's the only way you'll get anywhere in the company.
