Graphic Design Intern, Buffalo, NY - June 15, 2015
Last Fall, I was finally able to get an internship at an advertising firm. They have proven to me that there are employers out there who are willing to give aspiring artists and designers a chance at launching their careers!
A typical day included working on Adobe Illustrator and InDesign on the latest logos, brochures, and business cards for area clients. Both the Designer and Manager helped me learn how procedures are done by allowing me to experiment based from the Designer's directives. These clients were for manufacturing companies, retailers, and residential developers. We were welcome to bring our own lunch, though they often supplied free snacks for us, and had a friendly restaurant owner next door who allowed us to have lunch there.
When the internship was done, I learned a lot of new software skills, and made new professional friends along the way. Overall, my experience was one that I will never forget!
