The Nurse Educator will develop, plan, organize, evaluate and implement professional and paraprofessional clinical education in response to staff development needs, through staff clinical orientation and scheduled in services. He/she will oversee clinical resource materials for the agency and oversee point of care training for clinicians. The nurse educator will also serve as a resource to the compliance department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists, plans, implements and evaluates programs for orientation, in service, education, continuing education and competence assessment.
Uses the education process and incorporates adult learning principles in teaching staff.
Uses the consultation process to facilitate and enhance the achievement of individual, departmental and organizational goals.
Engages in systematic inquiry and integrates research results and current literature into educational activities. Develops, maintains, and enhances educational and clinical expertise through orientation, evaluation and ongoing professional development.

Ability to teach professional clinicians and paraprofessionals
Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Excellent assessment of department needs
Ability to develop, train and implement education programs for all clinical and non-clinical staff
Computer skills and PowerPoint experience
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an approved college or university required. Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in the State of Ohio. Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance coverage required.
