Network Service Technician
Education: Computer/Network education or equivalent experience.
Full Time, Salaried position
Experience: Configuration of Microsoft Servers, Firewall appliances and thin/zero clients. Remote troubleshooting of same. Installation of networks including termination of CAT-6 cabling and raceway installation.
Other requirements: Must be able to pass security check. Articulate, patient with customers needing support.
Duties: Takes calls/emails from installed base customers. Diplomatically queries customers for information on outage. Cures problem via remote access whenever possible. Configures and ships replacement component if not. Interfaces with ISPs, local technicians and customers for a quick resolution to problem/outage.
Maintains complete call and service log of customer issues.
Researches and discovers new technologies to meet customer needs. Tests updated software and hardware for security issues.
Configures new networks for additional customers in-house, then accompanies the network for local deployment. Networks use Windows Server, firewall appliance, and thin clients currently. General office duties in service lull times such as accounting, ordering, etc..
Interesting, unique vertical integration with challenging security aspects. Growing customer base prompts staff expansion.
Some overnight travel needed. Varies, about seven a year for 2-4 nights each.
