Front-End Web Developer This is a 6 month contract position

Working under the Director of E-commerce and within the Digital Communications team, the Front-End Web Developer will work with other team members to maintain and develop websites for the Academy of Art University and e-commerce initiatives. Specific focus will be with hands-on front-end web development with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and JQuery within the Twitter Bootstrap Framework. Candidate will be responsible for front-end web development for the redesign of the AAU Art & Design Supply, online art supply store. The Front-end Web Developer will also do front-end development for online marketing and social media initiatives.

The candidate should be familiar with these technology areas:
Languages(s): HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery Software(s): Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word Operating System(s): Macintosh (primarily), iOS, Windows & Android devices Skill(s): Front-end web development, web production

Required Qualifications:
Excellent front-end website production skills
Experience splicing Photoshop / Fireworks designs for front-end development
Ability to demonstrate familiarity with web production concepts, best-practices and procedures
Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), and working with dynamic (database driven) websites
Familiarity with CSS/HTML Frameworks
Requires knowledge of latest web technology and e-commerce best practices
Experience styling and programming Wordpress, Drupal or other CMS or e-commerce websites
Links to past work and a link to personal website must be included in cover letter

Required Experience:
Demonstrated success in front end website development. Ability to work as a member of a team with a customer-oriented mindset. Experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with Mac OS and iOS devices.

Primary Responsibilities:
Front –web development with HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
Create website and digital communications proposals and requests for proposals
Responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing code for web pages and web based user interfaces
Slice Photoshop web designs for front-end development
Create and compress any necessary website, social media and mobile graphics
Manage Content Management Systems (CMS), for dynamic (database driven) websites and E-commerce
Front-end development for Social Media websites and templates
Create and maintain style sheets for CMS- based or e-commerce websites and social media
Perform other duties as required or assigned
