Professional Associate Marine Underwriter (Current Employee), San Francisco, CAMarch 6, 2014
Pros: great people
Cons: very fast paced
ACE was a great opportunity to get started in my underwriting career. The company is top notch and requires the best. It is a very numbers and statistic driven company. It's definitely not a place to learn the art of underwriting.

Working with at-risk youth and families in St. Paul, MN
Case Manager (Former Employee), Saint Paul, MNFebruary 7, 2014
Pros: working to build strong and positive relationships with children, families and the community.
Companies such as these are necessary. There are times when families need assistance, especially children. This company/ concept is needed throughout the twin cities because resources can be limited for families. The best part of this position was working with the children in partner with the schools and parents.

One of the most Fun jobs Ive had
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Oak Hill, WVJanuary 27, 2014
Pros: meeting new people and learning new things
Cons: not a year round job only seasonal
I liked working at ACE because I got to meet and talk to new people. I had a blast working down there because I loved being outdoors and being around people that I liked working with and being around. I learned alot of the things about housekeeping that i didn't know before like how to fold the laundry and to place towels and how to make different beds – more... in different cabins. The people that I worked with at ACE were all very fun and supportive. The hardest part about the job overall was leaving the company and my co-workers, and the easiest part of my job was showing up for work and doing my job and learning new things on a daily basis. – less

Great place to work, learned alot about customer service and inventory. I worked with one lady and we got alone well. The hardest part of the job was getting checks verified but the job itself was rather fun and scary at the same time.

Ace is a productive place to work, time go by so fast we always have something to do. It can be a fun job most of the time.
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee), Shreveport, LAJanuary 6, 2014
Pros: i have alot of customer service experience.
Cons: they have been laying off at my job and cutting hours, so that is why i am seeking for new employment.
A typical day at work, is usually busy making calls confirming people appointments to come in to make their payments, collecting payments, bills pay. I really enjoy working with the public. I have learned alot I have gotten alot of experience working at Ace, I cash checks, do bill pay, ect. The hardest part of my job is, when I call someone house to – more... make a payment and they tell me off, I try to handle it as professional as I can. The most enjoyable part of my job is pleasing my customers, when they come in to the center I try to give them the best customer service they can get. – less

Not very fun and not very innovative
Account Executive (Current Employee), Philadelphia, PADecember 9, 2013
Pros: the company knows its core competency and profits by leveraging that competency.
Cons: healthcare is expensive, vacation time is as limited as it gets, few people that are excited to come to work
This is by no means a bad company to work for but the benefits are really, really weak and the culture is the most bland that I've seen in all of my years in the corporate world. Even for insurance, this plce is pretty vanilla. The people are nice and well intentioned but the pervasive attitude of "I can't wait for the weekend" and "Is it 5 o'clock – more... yet" tends to drag you down even if that isn't your style. – less

Good people, very flexible, but not a good fit for me.
A/R Billing Specialist/ Assistant to VP (Current Employee), Las Vegas, NVMarch 16, 2013
Pros: flexible and casual
Cons: no benefits and no opportunities for advancements
This is a family owned business. Its trades consist of Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC. The enviornment is relaxed and casual, but it can get very busy during summer and again during winter. The business owners are good people and they are flexible when it comes to employee schedules. On the downside, I have been told numerous times that I am an exceptional – more... employee and that I'm doing great. I was told of benefits and a raise after 90 days, but I haven't received a raise, not much recognition, and no benefits. I'm always there when needed and I always come through, but there's no acknowledgment of my work and everyday feels like a miserable prison cell. Most days I can't take a lunch because it's busy. It makes someone like me feel wasted; as in wasting time and days in a place that isn't bringing me any joy or hope. All in all, this is a good company with regards to the service they provide, but it's just not a good fit for me. – less

Assistant Program Manager (Former Employee), Arlington, TNMarch 5, 2013
Pros: freedom to work at your own pace
Cons: at times clients would become violent
The work involved finding employment opportunities for people with severe developmental disabilities. Someone with an outgoing personality would thrive in this position.
