Industry Manager, Sports (Former Employee) – San Diego, CA – July 5, 2012
The biggest take-away with my experience is the people. I have met some of the brightest, most creative, fun (and funny) and genuinely 'real' people at Active.
From a Corporate level, the work environment is fast paste but rewarding. People work hard and leave the issues at the office for a positive work-life balance.
Opportunites abound as new programs, partnerships and products are released regularly.
I learned so much from my experience at Active both professional and personal. I would whole-heartedly recommend this company. If the right opportunity opened up I would also be highly motivated to return as an employee again!
energetic, lively office & work environment; driven to succeed
some travel may be required but this is a plus to some, fast-paced office and promotions may intimidate some
To be honest, Active isn't for everyone. I love working at Active, but you have to be willing to work hard and you have to have a positive attitude. If you can put drama aside and focus on your job then you will be successful. I've had two different roles and managers during my tenure and have loved them both! Account Managers make decent money. No job or company is ever perfect, but overall my experience has been fantastic and I have learned a lot! Benefits are good if you're single but I've heard they aren't great for families. You do get discounts at a lot of places (AT&T, Flywheel, Orange Theory Fitness, travel services, pet insurance, etc.). Again, I love Active, but I know a lot of people that have left because they just couldn't keep up with the culture and pace of changes.
