Technician III, Corpus Christi, TX - November 2, 2016
My position was Tech III while at Acton. It was my responsibility to refurbish construction trailers and containers. The trailer inventory for the most part was purchased from Mobile Mini. Most of these were in rough shape and repairs could be quite extensive. Management at the Corpus Christi TX. location often referred to these trailers as Pigs with lipstick on. When repair time exceeded delivery time we would be told to just put lipstick on them so they could be delivered and any additional repairs would be made on site if the customer called to complain. My position was a mobile service position which meant I would have to service trailer within a 150 mile radius. I was furnished a company credit card that most of the time did not work. On several occasions I paid out of pocket and submitted an expense report. Reimbursement was slow in coming and am still owed from several months past. The guys I worked with were good guys and tried hard to meet deadlines. Out of the first 4 tech hired 3 had resigned within 8 months. Very stressful job mostly due to a lack of management (local).
