Patient Account Representative (Current Employee) –  Worcester, MAJune 21, 2015
A typical day at work is to follow up with the financial classes that you are assigned. Reviewing the patients accounts along with billing inpatient and outpatient stays on a daily basis. Multi-tasking and communicating with insurance representatives are skills that are absolutely needed in order to perform this job.
Pros
Employee of the Month program
Cons
Half hour lunch goes by fast

CRISIS INTERVENTION COUNSELOR (Former Employee) –  Worcester, MAMay 20, 2015
AdCare hospital was one of my favorite places to work. Their staff across all fields were extremely nice and friendly. It kind of felt like home at this hospital. Walking in you always receive a welcoming greeting which made it very comforting to arrive at work. Management was always very helpful although I did not see them too often due to my shift after most had left. My co-workers as far as counselors were always there when you needed them. The hardest part of the job would have to been when clients came in extremely intoxicated and were very difficult to reason with. In they end, they would always be apologetic which was nice. The most enjoyable part of the job would have to be watching clients go from not wanting to hear anything you say and be out of control with no care of getting better to becoming an entirely different and almost passionate person.
Pros
Making a difference in someone's life.
Cons
I don't really know of any cons other than the time clock.

Amazing, loving FAMILY!
Office Manager (Current Employee) –  Worcester, MAFebruary 9, 2015
The Hillis Family TRULY values treating both their patients AND employees as part of their family. They go above and beyond for their patients and in tune, go above and beyond for their employees. Upper management is transparent is what they do, meaning once they know, you know has mid-management and it's a trickle down affect for the rest of the team.

Co-workers are friendly and easy going and people are dedicated and committed to their jobs. People do NOT leave this job, or if they do, they always seem to come back, and you can see why.

The most enjoyable part of my job is simply walking through the door. Yes, there are tough days, short staffing, lots of difficult patients, and just all around hectic, but there is nothing that I would change.
Pros
overall benefits from the family, advancement, career enlargement
Cons
healthcare insurance could be a lot better

A full service addictions hospital with detox, inpatient and outpatient services
Clinician (Current Employee) –  Quincy, MAFebruary 4, 2015
As a full time substance abuse and mental health clinician.
I facilitate a 3 hour morning IOP three days a week,
facilitate a 1.5 dual diagnosis group and see individuals, couples and families as a counselor.
I typically do four full intake and assessments for new patients per week, participate in weekly staff meetings and treatment team case reviews.

I view addiction as a treatable family disease with roots in trauma history and genetics.

My approach is grounded in best practices and is multifaceted including a wide range of appropriate modalities including CBT,DBT, Yoga and mindful meditation,Post Induction Trauma work, working on core symptoms of underlying codependency(aka;developmental immaturity),art therapy exercises to access creativity and open mindedness, process groups and psycho-education on the disease of addiction and the benefits of a healthy recovery lifestyle.

Extraordinary, committed staff and programs. A typical day is an exciting mix of intakes, groups, individual counseling and case management. My group experience has expanded, as have my case management skills. The hardest part of the job is the hours. The most enjoyable are the staff and the clients. It's wonderful to make a difference in a life.
