Death by Micro Management
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  Albany, NYJuly 12, 2017
This used to be and could be a great job: Company is transitioning from family run to a corporate set. The mid level management has never worked in the industry and is choking progress with menial reports and endless emails. GPS on company vehicles, salesman are unable to set pricing on the products to their own customers. Company support is slow to unresponsive, classic "salesman is commission based so he has to drive every aspect of the sale/rental because we can't expect anyone else to take a vested interest" climate
Pros
Great product line, company vehicle, expense account
Cons
Non-competitive margins, micro management, frustrated staff

Poor management, no advancements
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  AllJune 9, 2017
Management is only concerned with employees they are personally friends with - not interested in solving problems for any other employees. No respect is given, especially in administrative roles. You're expected to do the jobs of other employees and be compensated less than they are. Corporate is just as bad. Management doesn't take responsibility for their actions. Would rather have employees quit than try to make workplace more functional.
Pros
Good coworkers
Cons
Poor pay, disrespect

yard guy (Former Employee) –  Vestal, NYMarch 7, 2017
I worked there for year and a half and form day one they never really showed me any respect every time I came up with a good idea to make the yard more productive for when customer came in they told me it would never work and always made me feel like I wasn't doing my Job but fired me for no reason. They would rather keep someone that hits the building and is in safe to operate equipment
Pros
Awesome shop guys
Cons
Never no what they want to do

Solid management & supportive branch staff
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  NYSFebruary 8, 2017
Fast pace workplace with dedicated people to back you up. Senior Management is active and spends time in the field & branches. Sometimes hectic but that's the nature of the construction industry.
Pros
management spends the resources to make training & safety a priority
Cons
difficult to plan more than 30-60 days -often reactive versus proactive

be part of a growing company
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  New York StateFebruary 6, 2017
Strong organization that is developing their employees to be engaged and high functioning professionals. They provide a ton of training, a commission structure that lets you make as much as you can. Great management, they’ve promoted a lot of internal people up through the ranks. They have a lot of long term employees, 10 years +, so that speaks well of the organization. If you’re a professional that wants to grow personally and professionally, this is a great place to be. They have had several past employees who had left for greener pastures try to get back in.
Pros
training, being part of a strong, growing company.
Cons
don't apply if you're looking to just punch the clock, they want high performers

Great products... Sub par management and Pay
sales (Former Employee) –  allOctober 17, 2016
This could be a great place to work given the products.

The constant micromanagement from the top down hinders the success and morale of the company as a whole. To top it off the pay is disgraceful for how you are treated and for what is expected. If your looking to for the job Admar is fine, if your looking for a career look elsewhere.
Pros
Great events
Cons
Management, Pay, Advancement

Equipment mechanic (Former Employee) –  Buffalo, NYOctober 31, 2014
Management is the worst I've ever experienced. They treat you like your a piece of garbage. No job security. Most employees hate working there, but feel they can't find anything else. Very high turn over rate.
Pros
none
Cons

Supportive leaders that really care for their employees
Marketing (Current Employee) –  Rochester, NYMarch 26, 2014
I am very grateful for all of the support and flexibility I am given by my boss. Employees here are able to have appointments during the work day to care for children, parents or themselves.

The owners are kind to everyone and show their appreciation for our hard work in various ways.

The benefits paid for by the company are much better than with many other employers. There is an EAP available to help with work-life balance. Disability insurance, life insurance, Aflac and the usual medical insurance are also available for a reasonable cost.

The office overall is very friendly, we frequently laugh and joke with each other and occasionally will spend time together outside of the office.
Pros
Frequent free lunches, flexibility for parents, growing company, casual Fridays
Cons
Little paid vacation time, strict dress code

Service Writer (Current Employee) –  AdmarFebruary 25, 2014
Great bennefits. Pay is not very good. Store management is almost not existant. Issues never get resolved and the only way to get ahead is if you are buddies with the right people. Fast pace environment. Could be an awesome company if corporate would take care of the corrupt management.
Pros
good bennefits
Cons
management, lach of training, pay

Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Current Employee) –  Buffalo, NYSeptember 20, 2013
it would be a great work place if pace would slow down a bit to give you time to do your job at 100% instead of cutting some corners to get the job out the door
