Pros: great coworkers, great manager
Cons: zero!
I have been at ADT for almost 1 year now. I love it!!! Probably because I can sell. If you can't sell, don't blame the company or the leads, blame yourself!

It is a good company, but hard to sell security systems in this economy. It was 100% commission.

Enjoyable workplace
Commercial Installer (Current Employee), Maumee, OH – May 2, 2013
Driving to the jobsite, pulling cable, programming panels, troubleshooting.

I had no experience when I started and I learned everything I know thanks to the company.

Management gives me the opportunity to make the best decisions for the customer.

My co-workers and I work together very well and try to keep each other sharp at our trade.

Is the waiting – more... that occurs at times on hold with our dispatch center or on tech support.

When you finish a job and the customer is happy as well as the company. – less

Interesting and self fulling position
Emergency Dispatcher (Former Employee), Aurora, CO – May 2, 2013
Pros: always had overtime available
Cons: the false alarms
Keeping people and their homes and buisness's safe was not only self fulling but interesting too just to see what type of activity you may see and what you and co-workers would have to consider as suspecious activity.

Hard work, learning experiences
Processor/Data Entry (Current Employee), Jacksonville, FL – May 1, 2013
Pros: great work environment
Answer phone calls from field sale reps and then input the information they provide. There is also batch work which consists of scanned in contracts which we verify the information to make sure it was inputted properly. I've learned new systems and have gained customer experience. I can honestly say I love my co workers and managers. They are all very – more... helpful and help the eight hour shift go by smoother and faster. The hardest part is that not all the reps that call in are fully prepared which makes it difficult to get through the call. – less

Security Services Sales Representative (Former Employee), Fairfax, VA – April 30, 2013
My managers and co-workers would assist in any way possible to help me achieve any sales goal. I showed confidence in the service offered to be the best in the business. Many tools were at my disposal to establish a connection with clients. Compensation was very rewarding based on performance.

Data processing center and call center
Customer Assistant (Former Employee), Indianapolis, IN – April 23, 2013
Pros: as a team we open the first data processing center in indianapolis area
Cons: 12 hour or more work days
I entered needed information into our system so when the alarm systems were installed the tech would be able to connect the systems via telephone. I also answered incoming calls from sales reps and sales managers to correct needed information on contracts and/or needed updates.

Large call center hub for security systems throughout the United States
Customer Service Group (Current Employee), Kansas City, MO – April 18, 2013
Pros: good benifits and paid vacation. schedule modification is possible if time slot opens up.
Cons: limited advancement opportunities since adt/tyco split, rules and regulations concerning "quality assurance" change every year
High pressure job dealing with distraught customers and proper authorities.

Dealt with a wide variety of personalities and customer expectations.

Hardest part of job is monotony of expected responses to customer questions, scripted responses are prefered by ADT/TYCO but customers disliked the "dehumanizing" quality

Co-workers are usually non hostile – more... and friendly but there are exceptions and there is heavy favoritism dispite adamant refute by management – less

Regardless
EDO Operator (Current Employee), Irving,CMC – April 13, 2013
Pros: where to start.....
Cons: parking
Regardless of what anyone says below this review this is a great place to work for. I have worked for a great deal of other jobs that aren't anywhere near as enjoyable. I have been able to travel to locations outside the U.S. all on the companies tab. Places I would have never been able to go to otherwise. My training an advancement in the short time – more... I have been here is by far unequal. Usually the people I have known that have said bad things are the ones that used to work there and have been fired due to there own vices. Or they are still there and haven't been able to take full advantage of the opportunities allowed. I will be the first to say sometimes when a door opens they don't get to take that position the first time. I promise though that same door will open up again down the road. (If first you don't succeed). About the only thing that has been hard is learning the operating procedures however, with repetition this is easily overcome. Another downfall is the parking situation. The call center I am at is about completley staffed so sometimes it is hard to find a spot. Otherwise I have been able to advance my career quicker than some other locations that are "Class A" locations. The people I work with are very knowledgable and have a wide data base of experience. I really enjoy the 401K plan and the PTO time. Also they have an option to take time off without pay should you choose. With this company as with many others your only going to get for you the same return as the work your willing to put in. If you do enough here to just get by then that's all your going to get in return. However the further you let go of your own little "quirks" and take full advantage of the lessons that are offered you will do just fine. – less

Resale Representative (Current Employee), Jacksonville, FL – April 7, 2013
log in to the systems and take incoming calls from customers. I've learned a lot about customer service and being a sales representative and how to make sure that the customer gets the best service. I never had never had any problems with management i alwyas have done my work and followed company policies. The hardest part of my job is keeping up with – more... the stats every month especially if you are having a slow month in sales. – less

Security Advisor (Former Employee), Albuquerque, NM – April 4, 2013
Pros: getting to work out of the office
Cons: having to put so many miles on vehicle
Typical day consisted of going on appointments and evaluating customers security needs. I learned some interesting facts about home invasions. The management was supportive but not very understanding. Going on appointments that weren't planned very well. I loved being able to help anyone that needs security services.

Writer
Writer (Former Employee), Boca Raton, FL – March 28, 2013
Pros: the campus is really nice. starbucks, hair salon, nurse, chiropractor on premises.
Cons: little or no direction. poor upper management.
ADT Boca Raton. Lovely office building. Nose to the grindstone. Upper Management is terrible. Don't expect a 'thank you' for any work performed. It's expected. All depends who you report to. You're pretty much on your own with little direction, if any. The people are very nice and hard working. You'll spend most of your day looking for who is who in – more... the food chain. – less

Very interesting place but great pay.
Technical Support Agent (Former Employee), Kansas City, MO – March 11, 2013
Pros: education in regards to the security systems and management is very structured
Cons: no room for advancement into management.
Co-workers can be a little uptight sometimes because it was a very stressful job. Working technical support you learn ALOT about security systems and how they work.

Great money, but not a desired position.
REGIONAL MARKETING DIRECTOR (Former Employee), Tempe, AZ – March 1, 2013
A typical day at work consisted of continuously staying on top of all the sales associates to make sure that they were hitting their target areas and following up on the leads provided to them. The sales training was pretty impressive, and the co-workers were a mixture of lazy vs ambitious. The hardest part of the job was the micro management of the – more... sales associates that were there just to try an make a few dollars. The most enjoyable part of the job was helping a new employee develop and watching them grow into a position where they not only started to make good money, but also began to better themselves. – less
