Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL), a growing government contractor, anticipates a need for *Systems Engineers in Frederick, MD, Aberdeen, MD, Stafford, VA, and San Diego, CA*, supporting government activities for defense against chemical and biological threats.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Secret security clearance is required.
  • Eight years relevant experience.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification/training.


  • Perform all aspects of technical analysis and systems engineering support to facilitate the design, development, implementation and sustainment of a material solution.
  • Ensure application of appropriate scientific principles to meet technical requirements and trace requirements to system and test specifications.
  • Apply technical knowledge with regard to interpretation of specifications, requirements, and technical data.
  • Ability to serve as Principal Systems Engineer, when required, providing senior perspective program and engineering management support.
  • Evaluate, define, analyze, and recommend strategies and potential systems to meet chemical and biological threats and integrate emerging technology to augment systems under development.
  • Coordinate program office activities relating to systems engineering with external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice on integration of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive capability into customer’s systems.
  • Receive and review draft requirements documents from the combat developer, assess feasibility of user requirements, review and refine failure definition and scoring criteria for reliability and provide feedback.
  • Support the review and analysis of engineering change proposals and value engineering change proposals.
  • Provide input to documents, reports, and briefings.
  • Develop plans to ensure proper integration of technology and engineering.

Work is projected to begin approximately April 2013.
