A typical day at work consists of collecting urine samples for Urine drug screens and completing paperwork for the sample. Everyone is great to get along with and always willing to help out when needed.
get to learn something new each day
some times patients can't urinate, so you have to wait till they can.
I worked as a remote employee for the first 2 years and it was great with quarterly bonuses and great incentives. Annual Christmas Party and Company Picnic as well. (Most of the positive reviews are from remote workers/collection technicians because they don't work directly at Aegis, they work in a clients office that hires Aegis for their drug testing)
Started working for the corporate office in 2015 and it was still great until CEO/founder and president left in 2016, it went downhill fast. Hired more sales oriented people and employees were pushed to work more and almost every incentive offered was taken away. Pressured to complete a very unrealistic amount of work in an 8 hour shift. Micromanaging and unprofessionalism are very common. No work/home life balance. If you're family oriented this is not the company to work for. If you like walking on eggshells everyday this is the place for you.
Knowledge of how a toxicology lab works
Major micromanaging/ management abuses their authority, no home/work life balance

Aegis is a great company to work for if you have a great RSM. Over all the corporate office care's nothing about the lively hood of its staff which isn't corporate. You have no room to grow with the company and they DO NOT HAVE YOUR BACK.
Aegis is a good place to work the culture is to take care of the employees. Some departments are better than others as far as the trust and responsibility given to you. Overall they try to take care of everyone but can sometimes be more friend then manager and that prevents things from progressing.
The CEO and founder of Aegis was forced out by an investment company. The CEO cared very much about the company he formed and especially the employees that worked for him. That made for a wonderful place to work. Now the investment company is looking to cut in any way possible and pump up the bottom line to prepare the company for resale. Employees are overworked and belittled in every way by management in order to do more with less. Employee morale has hit rock bottom and most are looking for another job. There are many health care companies begging for employees out there. Take my advice choose one of those.
It is a paycheck, although it will probably be short term.
Low morale, micro managers, overburdened workload, and uncertain future
It is a ok place to work. Some departments are better than others. No communication between Management and Team members. The job can come very redundant very quickly. Pay is good. Benefits are good. It is difficult to take desired time off.
This company used to be an absolute amazing company to work for in the patient access dept. Now is a totally different story. Management is HORRIBLE. Specifically the patient access manager. She will talk down to you, she will lie to u and about u and she will try to bully you. HR has been made aware of the issues and refuse to do anything about it. I worked here for almost 7 years with very little turn over but since she has taken over they are leaving one right after another. She will not hire any decent help and they are always behind.
Pay is great, but you'll be expected to live your life for work only! Management was great, but not any more. Maybe if you removed certain management positions, then just maybe things could change for the better. Certain people think they know it all, but they sure don't want to help get the work done! HR has been made aware of issues with management staff (one likes to bully and talk down to you) and yet nothing is ever done... expect that you'll be the next out the door.
Billing and Coding Specialist (Former Employee) – Nashville, TN – January 8, 2017
learned a lot, management was very open and forthcoming. Even though most full time personnel worked from home and only came in once every two weeks they were all very friendly and helpful with any and all questions
too far for me to drive daily / temporary position
