Fillmore Capital Partners specializes in commercial real estate investments, especially in health care, lodging, senior housing, manufactured home communities, retail and office properties, and operating companies. To balance out its portfolio, the private equity firm also invests in real estate-related loans, debt, and special situations. Fillmore Capital usually invests $20 million to $50 million per transaction in target companies and typically keeps its holdings for up to five years. Active throughout the US and Mexico, the firm serves mostly institutional investors such as pension funds, as well as private investment companies, endowments, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Among Fillmore Capital's nearly $6 billion portfolio is GGNSC Holdings, which operates skilled nursing facilities under the name Golden Living. Fillmore bought GGNSC (formerly Beverly Enterprises) in 2006. Since then Fillmore has invested more than $250 million in the company.
