Working at Aerotek

  • Ruba in Redwood City, California 13 days ago
I started at Aerotek in one of their NJ offices pretty recently and I like it so far. However I am here just long enough to see some of the underhanded shady stuff that is happening here in this office. Supervisors getting caught drinking on the job and then turning around and making stuff up about other colleagues to save their own butts. Girls cheating on their significant others and getting caught!! But believe me trying to do whatever they can to cover it up. And to top it all off, it seems as if the Head Aerotek Mgr. knows its all going on or is truly an idiot. Another example, tenured account supervisors trying to push new people out of clients they already established. Its eally scary because I like working here and from the surface people seem really nice. However I dont know what to do? Is this how corporate America is? Is this just an Aerotek thing? Do I say something to my Branch Manager or will I get fired and blackmailed? Or have things made up about me? Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do?

Just another piece of crap recruiting company. You can apply for a position with this company for which you are extraordinarily well-qualified, and you will NEVER hear back from the company. You will, however, continue to see the same position advertised by them, week after week, month after month, for a year or more after you have applied. I wish Indeed.com had some kind of filter that could be turned on to knock out ads by these clowns.

Do you work at Aerotek? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview? Any advice for someone trying to get in?

Hey -- Has anyone held the job title of Recruiter? I am thinking about leaving my job, which is a supervisory job but which I'd rate as a 5 or 6 on a scale of 10. I have an offer from Aerotek, and they tell me that as a Recruiter I will have similar decision making duties that I now have as a manager. For example, they tell me, as far as the temp employees I recruit, I will be thier Supervisor (this seems odd, since they will be working on-site ate client facilities). Does anyone know about what the Rcruiter job entails? Thanks for any information!!! I would hate to leave my job to take a step down!

There are 20+ types of CAD Drafting - architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, transportation, utilities, industrial, even fashion. It takes a job seeker 10 minutes to go thru all the pages just to see a job description, so please just be more inclusive: WHAT TYPE DRAFTING DISCIPLINE.

What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Aerotek? What do you like best about working at Aerotek? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

I was working with aerotek and they placed me in this company. I got 2 days of classroom which they talked about the company and then they put with a trainer who did not have a extra headset so i could listen in to what the other person was saying on the phone and after 2 days of just hearing what the trainer was saying and not being able to see the computer screen real well they threw in with the wolves (so to speak) and put me in a cubicle way across the rrom from the person who was supposed train me and then they were training me on 4 different things at once not even giving me time to learn the basics and i had said i felt like an idiot and i was told by the trainer and and a manger don't worry they threw you on the phones too soon and it takes awhile to get it. Then on Sunday night a aerotek manager called my cellphone and left a nasty message on my voicemail saying you don't have to go back. They said you weren't getting it and I complained to him that they didn't even have a headset for me to listen so I could here both sides and put it together and he lied to me and said it it illegal to have someone listening in which I checked and it is not. So I asked if they had anything else for me and he said no they are just working with this company and the had nothing else and he was rude. And I just called and asked about my personal items and was told when I give them the parking permit and the badge then that company will give me my stuff back. I would have to drive 30 mile four times to get my stuff that is being held hostage. Now I know that is illegal they can not hold my personal items. I was treated unfairly and they were very rude and nasty to me.

I went for an interview - they were meeting with client the next day. Sent emails, called several times and no return phone calls, emails or interview with the company. Spoke to the supervisor of recruiter and was told he would call that day. No phone call. It was a waste of time and I would never use them as agency.

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable? How does Aerotek stack up against the competition?
