Afni is growing its Bloomington, Illinois operations by adding 150 new contact center jobs in 2017. Most of the new positions will be web chat customer service agents, which represent a growing trend in how people interact with companies.
“Many people now go to company websites to get the answers or assistance they need,” said Kathy Poley, Senior Vice President of Global Contact Center Operations. “When those people are online, sometimes they need help and prefer a quick back-and-forth online chat with an agent instead of calling or being called. Instead of wearing a headset and answering calls, our web chat team will interact with people by typing responses into a website chat window.”
Afni’s new web chat agents will represent a major U.S. brand by assisting their small business customers with questions related to service plans, billing, and account changes. The web chat jobs expand the types of entry-level employment options the company now offers in Bloomington.
Two Hiring Events are scheduled at Afni (1310 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Bloomington, IL):
Wednesday, January 4, 2017 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, January 7, 2017 9 a.m. to noon.
The hiring open house events will give candidates an opportunity to tour the building, meet the Afni team, and apply and interview. Successful candidates will receive a job offer the same day.
