Quality assurance, Sulphur Springs, TX - July 18, 2013
A typical day at work included using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and microscopes. This company made injected moldable fortron plastic parts for various applications. My job was to do checks on the items produced from the assembly line and make sure they met certain requirements by measuring or visually inspecting the parts. Our management was heavy and often put a lot of pressure on our department in particular. The hardest part of the job was to know and understand that your best was never good enough and your only here to work. Attitudes were extremely negative and the low pay made employees very disgruntled with each other and their management. I didn't enjoy this job very much and honestly didn't have the chance to really learn a lot either.
