In early 2011, the company improved its position in an important emerging market when it established FESCO Adecco, a human resource services joint venture catering to China. Months later, Adecco obtained Drake Beam Morin (DBM), a human resources consulting firm specializing in employee selection, development, retention, and transition. Adecco bought DBM for $216 million and merged it with Lee Hecht Harrison.
Adecco made big waves throughout the staffing industry when it acquired rival MPS Group for $1.3 billion in January 2010. The purchase of MPS Group, an IT staffing leader with a network of more than 220 offices globally, added girth to Adecco's operations worldwide. MPS Group particularly strengthened Adecco's engineering, legal staffing, IT, and finance/accounting offerings. Adecco rolled MPS Group in with its Adecco Group North America division. MPS Group subsidiaries (which include Modis, Idea Integration, and Accounting Principals) now function as subsidiaries of Adecco. – less
