The main lab at Akron General is not unionized as is most of the rest of the hospital. Hence, there are no secretaries/clerical workers in the lab. Instead, the techs handle all the incoming/outgoing paperwork and have to order tests, etc. This means that central processing often has the greatest number of techs. Other areas may be understaffed because of this. Management, overall, seemed down to earth and approachable.
As an entry level core lab generalist with 3 years experience, I was earning 17.38/hr plus 1.25 shift diff.
