The Role of the Salon Manager is to be the “GO TO” person in the Salon. They are continuously visible, present and available. They are the ultimate Role model of exceptional customer service with every guest and team member. They ensure that the Salon meets budget requirements and business development goals and exceeds expectations for outstanding customer service.

Guest Service

  • Promote and monitor service quality among staff by being visible throughout the day to all guests and interacting with the Front Desk, Salon Floor, and Spa Area.
  • Be personally available to all guests to communicate and identify their needs and address their questions or concerns.
  • Ensure that guests are happy with their experience and service.
  • Instill in your employees the meaning and importance of customer service by acting as a positive role model.
  • Manage the schedules of the service providers to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Create back-up plans to address guest’s needs in the event of the unexpected.
  • Empower staff to use their best judgment in all customer service experiences.
  • Create professional relationships with staff and guests.
  • Develop Customer retention and satisfaction procedure. Ensure that Salon meets Customer retention goals and Customer Satisfaction Scores.

Staff & Management

  • Work at Front Desk at key times to demonstrate best practices.
  • Keep accurate records of staff training and coaching.
  • Document all staff coaching, feedback and disciplinary action for files.
  • Promote and monitor highest standard of customer service among staff through training, daily feedback and by acting as a positive role model.
  • Inspire employees by recognizing outstanding performance and service that contributes to the productivity of their team.
  • Provide daily feedback and guidance to Service Providers and Front Desk daily.
  • Provide balanced coverage of the Salon services providers and other staff.
  • Be present in the Salon on alternating opening and closing shifts with the Receptionist. Some days available to greet staff arriving – other days in the Salon with last guest.
  • Schedule worked is 40+ hours per week.
  • Work at Front Desk at key times to demonstrate best practices.
  • Keep accurate records of staff training and coaching.
  • Document all staff coaching, feedback and disciplinary action for files.
  • Promote and monitor highest standard of customer service among staff through training, daily feedback and by acting as a positive role model.
  • Inspire employees by recognizing outstanding performance and service that contributes to the productivity of their team.
  • Encourage individual and team development by providing education and training when appropriate.

Business development

  • Insure visibility and positive image of the Salon in Social Media and other media resources (Facebook, Yelp, Google Places etc.)
  • Identify the most effective business promotion campaigns to insure that the Salon meets its business development goals.
  • Responsible for the Salon budgets and staffing/productivity projections.
  • Ensure all company goals are met through appropriate planning and organization of staff, inventory, and expenses for short and long term success.

Facility

  • Ensure the Salon meets standards of excellence in cleanliness, product display, etc.
  • Monitor facility needs (repair and maintenance) and communicate with the owner.
  • Ensure that the Salon is in compliance with all State and Federal employment laws, State Cosmetology laws and regulations and that all necessary licenses are posted.
