company has lost focus
Technology Innovation Manager (Former Employee) –  Waukegan, ILOctober 17, 2017
In past few years too many changes have been made to the overall marketing and business structure to be productive. Upper management does not understand the needs of industrial coatings business, wants these business areas and R&D to function the same as trade sales, and it is not a working solution. After a two year effort the company has recently changed business structure for the third time in five years.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Unfocused managment

Good salary, benefits-poor management
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILOctober 1, 2017
The job is never boring and the days always bring something new-the benefits offered and salary are great!
The workplace culture has gotten increasingly negative and management doesn't listen to their teams. There is no encouragement from management regarding growth and are double standards for managers and their employees.
The most enjoyable part of the job are coworkers-coworkers strive to create a 'teamwork' environment and gladly help out when needed-it's unfortunate that the managers don't do the same. It should be noted that there is a high turnover rate which is questionable considering the benefits and salary.

Associate (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILSeptember 26, 2017
A great job for people who love office work and work in a huge company. I managed to help out an office worker with her papers that she wasn't even able to get to in over a year. I was happy that I could help in any way possible and she was very grateful to have me there.

Good benefits package

Pay is decent

You will be jammed through training.

Tenured employees are always right and will let you know.

Management is hand off and ineffective.

Little to no accountability

More numbers focused than actual quality focused.
Pros

Process Operator (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXSeptember 22, 2017
If you are willing to sacrifice your personal life to work a swinging shift schedule, and allow the company to put you at an increased risk in order to show profits to their share holders, then this is the place for you. The pay is pretty good, and the benefits are above average. But every day you are at work, could be your last. I two years on the site, I responded to multiple man down incidences and had to clean dozens of loss of containment incidences. They do have top rate safety equipment.
Pros
good pay
Cons
Epa, Osha, and general safety violations and concerns plague the site

Every shift for it's self.
Quality Control Technician (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHSeptember 5, 2017
Turnover rate is somewhat high, training is a joke. It's more a "learn from your mistakes and write-ups". Each shift has it's own attitude and way of doing things. If you send a batch out and it doesn't come back until until after you leave, someone else with take credit for competing it. When I left it was somewhat slow, however I hear mandatory overtime is roughly 10 hour shifts 7 days a week currently. 1 shift will train you and talk about you behind your back, 2nd shift will talk about you to your face and play favorites, and 3rd shift will be too sleepy to care about what goes out because 1st and 2nd will eventually catch it, write you up, and have you correct it.
Pros
Great benefits, salaried, hour lunches, job security
Cons
Hands off management, cliques, mandatory overtime, central HR
