The Record Label manager is responsible for overseeing overall operations of the soundtrack label across all aspects of production, finance and distribution. Reporting to the COO, the role will manage deliberate, long term growth, establish and cement distribution partners globally, and fully realize the creative direction of Mondo CEO.
Manage and develop the Mondo record label business and brand
Monitor and ensure "consistent excellence" in regards to company image and customer satisfaction
P&L responsibility - accountable for the profitability, revenue and cost elements of the record label income
Generate financial reports including cost estimates and cost of goods projections, maintain financial records, define company budgetary goals and cost margins
Manage day-to-day operations of label and production duties including: as record pressing and CD production (when applicable), assigning liner notes and paying mechanical royalties
Constantly sourcing best in class production partners
Manage all wholesale and distribution components, while constantly sourcing new distribution partners and opportunities in both brick and mortar and online doors, and across national and global stages
Lead negotiations with artists and studios for new licensing opportunities, including securing masters, approvals, royalties, liner notes etc.
Responsible for reviewing and redlining all business contract agreements
Acquire and oversee audio masters and assigning remastering, ensuring best possible audio quality for all releases
Maintain a rolling 12 month release schedule with 6 month production calendar, integrated into the broader Mondo release cycle
Work with Project Manager to ensure artwork is delivered on time and submit artwork for studio approval
Manage and execute label marketing activities including: PR (online + print), social media, digital acquisition (SEO, SEM), digital media, email, partner marketing (distributors and studios), release events, and live performances.
Create and implement national and international marketing campaigns and promotions to maximize sales
Plan and organize publicity and promotion work around events and live performances
Relevant music business experience
Good understanding of Mondo and its fan-base
Knowledge of current trends and similar brands
Excellent networking skills
Ability initiate growth, strategy and development over the department
Excellent project management and interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel, including overnight when necessary
Experience managing large-scale partner relationships
