Reports to the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager and Senior Vice President, Information Technology

Summary and Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to administer and support both standard business and insurance specific applications. Additional duties will include supporting the IT infrastructure which consists of Citrix, VMware, and Microsoft servers.

General Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining Alaska National’s computer systems
  • Test, install and support general and insurance specific software applications
  • Test, install and support hardware technologies needed to run company’s software applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware, software, networking and database problems and provide technical support
  • Provide appropriate training for end user applications
  • Research new technology options to solve specific problems or improve systems
  • Manage user accounts, access privileges and security settings
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of configuration and procedure
  • Provide offsite support as needed
  • Support team members in duties and projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Graduate, college degree preferred
  • College course work in computer science, management information systems, or a related field (Associates level degree preferred)
  • 3-5 years IT industry experience
  • Knowledge and experience in operating small/medium scale computer systems
  • Knowledge and experience using a variety of operating systems, software, hardware, and networks
  • CompTIA A+, Server+ or Network+ certification
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds

Preferred Skills

  • Microsoft environments including Windows Server and Desktop OS, SQL Server Database, Exchange/Outlook, SharePoint, Team Foundation System, IIS, Office 2010 Suite, Active Directory, Group Policies, RDP
  • Computer security, including firewall and antivirus
  • Dell Kace Service Desk and Desktop Imaging
  • Backup systems : Veeam or similar
  • Storage systems: NetApp or similar
  • Application delivery: Ctirix XenApp/XenDesktop or similar
  • Virtualization: VMware ESXi or equivalent
  • LAN/WAN Networking
  • Intermediate level powershell scripting capabilities or similar
  • Hardware : Servers, PCs, Printers, Firewalls, and Switches
