Having work here for 15 years what I came to enjoy most is the environment of my co-workers and I working as a team.

Fast Paced environment. professional envoironment. Why is this page required? I don't believe I need to crtique my company just to look at open positions.

Was once a good company to work for, going downhill now though. Not competitive anymore.

Management rules with an iron fist, Union seems to have no power to help honest people.

The best part of this job was working hard with a intelligent multinational group of people!

I took away many skills from my time with AT&T/Lucent Technologies/Alcatel-Lucent. Because it is a global company, had the ability to work with people from various cultures. Virtual work environment was an added bonus.

Excellent first line management, rest subject to pressures from above.

The amount of work was so staggering that to-do list remained 50%.

Work for AT&T-Lucent-Alcatel (ALU) for 33 yrs. and have seen many changes through out my career. Unfortunately the company is not doing very well currently due to competition over seas such as China, India and Mexico. Labor over seas is much cheaper making it difficult for ALU to compete at US standards. Benefits and wages are very good although job – more... security is very poor. Can't bet on having a job from year to year making it difficult for planning a future. – less

As a Product Mgr a typical work day consist of conference calls working with various cross functional teams here and abroad. Due to the dymamics of the job the management team are very flexible especially when it comes to work / life balance because of the many hours that are put in during a work week. The best part is you never stop learning and my – more... colleagues are great. I love the flexibility of virtual office but the down side I tend to work longer hour which I don't mind. – less

ALU provided me flexibility to be home when my kids needed me.
As long as you take responsibility for your work and meet deadlines,
you can work from anywhere and anytime that fits your flexibility.
I have had great managers, but the top level management is unaware of how things work at the employee level. They are disconnected with realities.

An International based company with presence in Asia, the Americas (S, C, NA), while HQ in Europe, France. TOP competitor in NA, is CISCO.
Typical efforts included support of ALU SMB product for NA. Part of a NOC that was available for support from 8am til 8pm EST., while also providing emergency customer support 24/7.

It was a learning and rewarding experience. The management did not really concern themselves with contractors.They just want you to do what ever was required and work long hours and not get compensated for it.

My first day at work Nov 5, 2007 was so nice.
Learn on Microwave,BTS,BSC,MXC etc commissioning.
The management was not too good when i was on field on till i came back to office as Deployment Team Lead.
I really have a team work spirit with all my co-worker.
Climbing the tower for alignment of the radio, when we have riggers but to achieve the goal – more... on time, as an Engineer, i needed to climb.
Traveling, meeting with the target,no complain from the client. – less
