Not Enough Pay
Assembler (Former Employee) –  Sarasota, FLSeptember 22, 2017
Not a place to work if you want a career. You work hard all day then get a small paycheck at the end of the week. You will learn how to do a lot of work whether you are certified or not.
Pros
Great Learning Experience

Mechanic (Current Employee) –  Greenwood, INAugust 22, 2017
Good place to work, not much overtime available. Very small shop not much room if any for advancement. Depending on placement in the shop if you work with someone or by yourself have to have the ability and the knowledge to work on your own.

Welder/Fabricator (Current Employee) –  Wood Dale, ILAugust 20, 2017
big hazing problem that management does nothing to prevent. most of the employees are very lazy but it is a union job so they make as much as you do even though you work 10x harder than them

Great Employees
Senior Sales Specialist (Former Employee) –  Houston, TexasAugust 11, 2017
Great manufacturer of products but at a higher price than competition. Little hard to ask for changes because they used a matrix type management system and many decisions had to come from overseas.
Pros
Decent company
Cons
Narrow thinking by management

ok unless your an american then they will hire someone from europe to replace you after they buy the company in america
Mechanical Design Engineer (Former Employee) –  Wood Dale, ILJuly 6, 2017
First they will have someone from America come in tell you your job is secure then they will bring in a European boss that will replace you with someone from Europe or someone who is here but is not American born with the thick European accent.
they will teach you there ways but normally they will run the place into the ground because they don't know what they bought and lose 2/3 of the business.
management very pushy European and the first thing you say they don't like they will push you right out the door.
being in meetings half the day and they still want you to finnish the work load I think 3 to 5 meetings a days is to much.
the most enjoyable part of the job is going home.
If you own an American company don't sell it to them they will start moving the products over seas and cutting American jobs and the ones that are left here they replace American workers with European ones.

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Broken Arrow, OKJune 9, 2017
Tools should be displayed out for all Machine Operator. Do not let old employees hide many spare good tools while new employees only have one bad tool. The maintenance supervisor should buy good tools, do not buy junk tools made in China giving Alfa Lava Inc. Employee hard time to produce good product.
Pros
Alfa Laval Inc. gives $2, 000 to employees per year to pay for Insurance deductible
Cons
Dining room too far from Work Area, Employees don't have enough time to have lunch, we must eat very light lunch like banana.

Operations Manager (Current Employee) –  USAMarch 31, 2017
I have worked here for three plus years, and at first, this seemed like an excellent company, however, I have experienced a greater focus on developing employees in the Europe area as opposed to the US area.

Quality (Current Employee) –  FloridaFebruary 7, 2017
We have a fully engaged management team that are willing to provide support and assistance outside of their immediate area of responsibility. The blue collar teams are hard working, but often resistant to change. The most enjoyable part of the job is the interaction and rapport established with the customers.
Pros
Close to home
Cons
Market uncertainties

Manager of inside sales (Current Employee) –  Exton, PAJanuary 18, 2017
Alfa Laval is a positive company to work for if you are well versed in European culture and the way they conduct business. They have been growing by acquisition in recent years and need to streamline their management and structure as they have some redundancies.
Pros
Good work life balance, flex time

Healthcare, no upward mobility

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Lykens, PAOctober 23, 2016
While the economy was good, it was a sound, competent company. The business goes with the rise/fall of crude oil prices, unfortunately, they needed to lay 1/2 of their employees off.
