Got to see nice places on my way to work as a Satellite Techncian
Computer Technician (Former Employee) – El Paso, TX – December 19, 2012
My typical day at work was driving for 2 to 3 hours to our destination, then working for about 12 hours. As a Satellite Technician I learn plenty of ways to trouble shoot a system. I feel that with a great trainer, most people can do an installation. Troubleshooting is a whole different situation. As I started getting service calls, I started learning more on understanding how to troubleshoot a system. As far as management, they were very nice to the technicians. They understood that having to drive for 2 to 3 hours a day for 6 days was sort of hard. The thing with us as technicians, was that , if one of us got stuck on a call, we would help each other out. The hardest part of the job for me would be the driving. Having to drive around 400 miles round trip per day for 6 days was hard. And as for my most enjoyable part of my job would be when customers were satisfied with our service. It was interesting meeting different kind of people. At times we had people that were very angry, but once we took care of their problems they were satisfied with our service.
did not have to pay for materials.
long winter hours and dangerous roads.
