The Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing the Alliance for Suicide Prevention office, providing support to the Executive Director and program support, as well as for managing the R.A.P.P. School Suicide Prevention Program. Because of the nature of a small organization, this person will be involved in a wide variety of areas, including office tasks, program management, responding to information and referral requests, special events, marketing, and service delivery.
This position will have the following responsibilities:
1. Office Management:
a. Answer phones.
b. Organize and track all office supplies and materials.
c. Maintain Alliance for Suicide Prevention library.
d. Maintain and update office databases.
2. Program Support
a. Handle information and referral calls.
b. Coordinate materials for presentations and groups.
c. Schedule meeting rooms.
d. Make meeting reminder calls to group members.
e. Mail information and outreach letters, including grief support letters.
f. Assist with research on mental illness, suicide, and related issues.
g. Trained as Hope for Today presenter
3. R.A.P.P. Program Coordination
a. Act as liaison to the schools and schedule all school presentations
b. Present R.A.P.P.in school to students and teachers
c. Supervise R.A.P.P. interns
d. Coordinate R.A.P.P. program presenters
e. Maintain and update all R.A.P.P. related materials
4. Volunteer Coordination
a. Supervise office volunteers and coordinate office volunteer tasks
b. Recruitment of volunteers
c. Manage volunteer scheduling at special events
5. Special Events:
a. Help coordinate special events such as the LifeSavers Breakfast and the Taking Strides to Save Lives 5K
b. Obtain sponsorships for special events and maintain relationships with sponsors
c. Handle event publicity
a. Write and design e-mail marketing campaigns
b. Develop and refine posters and brochures for different programs.
c. Maintain WordPress website.
d. Maintain Alliance for Suicide Prevention social media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
e. Maintain up to date media contact lists, and do on-going program promotion, including press releases and email notices.
f. Help staff information booths at local health fairs and other events.
7. Other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
- Professional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent computer skills, including competency with Microsoft Office Products
- Social media competency
- Event planning and fundraising experience
- Prior volunteer management experience
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
- Public speaking skills
- Experience with school-aged children or young adults
- Degree in human service related field
- Knowledge of mental health issues and suicide, particularly in Larimer County
- Experience with WordPress
