Operator (Current Employee) –  Midland, TXNovember 25, 2017
Lots of work less than mediocre pay. They keep promising more pay never actually do it. 2 and 1 however Pay week starts Monday hitch starts Wednesday so the you only get one week of overtime. Bonus is .5% top pay is 20 for lead.
Pros
Good coworkers
Cons
Low pay

Shattered company with a horrible culture
Operator (Former Employee) –  Irwin, PASeptember 2, 2017
Seems like it was a great place to work at one point. Very few employees there with more than one year with the company.

Management is a boy's club with no chance of an outsider entering.

Overall, bland corporate entity with zero atmosphere or professionalism.

Wireline & Perforating Operator (Current Employee) –  North Huntingdon, PAAugust 31, 2017
Allied would be a great company if they started their field operators at a higher hourly rate than just $13/hr. Other than that, its a great company to work for.

Great place to work. Pays not that great. Have asked for raises and they kept promising me one but never received one. All in all a good place to work if you start off with good pay.

MGMT doesn't care or interact with employees. no direction
Assist gun (Former Employee) –  Victoria, TXDecember 30, 2016
Was told hrs would be 40-50 hrs per week. Ended up working 85-95 per week. No home life or personal time could be scheduled as work schedule was constantly changing. Any issues or problems were never addressed by mgmt., and employees were told to drive even when the company knew the employee was out of driver hrs.
Cons
no home life, mgmt is not good to work with

You spend a lot of time away from home, but they pay you well for it. I found this job pretty fun, just had a hard time adapting to the life they wanted you to live.

The oil field is a ongoing education and the guys I worked with were always willing to help you learn and grow your knowledge. I learned a lot while I worked there.

Overall high quality service for clients, no consideration for employees.
TCP/DST Field Engineer (Current Employee) –  Victoria, TXSeptember 13, 2016
The employees are the source of the experience and the sole developers of the policies and procedures that have produced success for this small independent company. This company has lost sight of this fact and has lost all respect and consideration for its employees. There is no longer any room for advancement and no chance for fulfillment of promises made by management. I've worked for this company for 3+ years with no mention of a raise (good times or Bad). The only change in pay came when the oilfield crashed and they reduced my pay by a total of 20 percent and were told the change was temporary. That was 2015 and my pay still hasn't gone back up and there is no mention of a raise in sight. I am the only TCP Engineer that they found was worth keeping, yet they don't seem willing to do whats necessary to "keep" the last experienced TCP Engineer they have. I have no miss-runs so far in the 9 years that I have been in this specialty and have worked for countless O&G operators.
Pros
CEO is all about innovation and promotion from within.
Cons
Company has no commitment to employees.

Currently operating with only essentials in the down market. People are overworked and under paid creating low moral. A year ago, things weren't as bad. Hopefully when oil comes back so will the positives.
Pros

Wireline Operator (Former Employee) –  Irwin, PAMay 6, 2016
typical oilfield job, the company now runs a 3 weeks on/ 1 week off schedule, switched from salary to hourly and the starting wage makes it intolerable. probably would not go back, i loved the guys i worked with, but far too much has been taken away from the employees to go back.

Senior Open Hole / Cased Hole Field Engineer (Former Employee) –  Oklahoma City, OKApril 12, 2016
Good people and great local management, but corporate management can't seem to figure out a plan. there seems to be 2 quality control managers for every crew- and "policies" written by corporate beaurocrats without consulting operations.

Overall, pretty average for the modern oilfield.
Pros
Great local management OKC
Cons
no work at the moment

HESC Manager (Former Employee) –  Victoria, TXMarch 28, 2016
This company lies to you from the begging about everything. They do not care about their employees or their safety. The Mgmt. there treats the employees horrible always yelling and cussing them and making threats to fire them all the time.

FIELD OPERATOR (Former Employee) –  Irwin, PAMarch 7, 2016
Overall was a good company. There was a lot of good old boy networking. Many of the workers were related or best buddies growing up and this created divides with in the company on who was getting treated fairly. Towards the end of my employment this aspect got better with the hiring of a new manager. He didn't look into who was who when the jobs were being divided out but tried to keep it even for everyone.
The typical day was just a oil field job down and dirty and hard work. Co-workers were some of the best I've ever had and some of the very worse. Hardest part of the job was being away from home as much as I was.
