About AlliedBarton Security Services

Better than a blanket, Allied Security Holdings gives customers a sense of security. One of the largest private contract security firms in the US, the company does business as AlliedBarton Security Services. It recruits and employs trained security guards to serve thousands of customers (some of which are large FORTUNE 500 companies) and their facilities. – more... They include government facilities, hospitals, offices, ports, residential communities, shopping centers, and universities. With more than 100 offices nationwide, the company also provides employment and background screening services through its HR Plus subsidiary (formerly VanElla). Allied Security Holdings is owned by private equity firm Blackstone Group.

Allied Security Holdings began doing business as AlliedBarton Security Services after acquiring Barton Protective Services in 2004. Blackstone bought AlliedBarton in 2008 for $750 million from investors led by Ronald Perelman's MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings.

In the last few years, the company has made strides to further build out its service offerings both organically and through acquisitions, expand its geographic footprint across the US, and increase the number of industries and types of facilities that it serves. It launched a training and development program called AlliedBarton EDGE, which gives employees on-demand access to learning modules in order to prepare them for additional responsibilities and career advancement. It acquired the assets of Fox, a provider of manned guard services to residential communities in Florida, the assets of VanElla, and security services company Initial Security. Additionally, it joined with HireVeterans.com to invite US veterans to apply for security work. – less
