I was employed for 88 days for this company. Terminated with no warning 2 days before the insurance turned on. There was a guy on one of the other crews that stole something every single day we stopped at our regular gas station. Morning out back behind the shop was an open air drug market for select individuals. I believe there was drug deal going on not five feet from me as I was being fired. The weed smoking went from the top of management in this area all the way down to the diggers. I feel like these guys willfully misled me about what the job actually entailed.
I was hired as an FQM. Every day was a battle waiting the day labor guys. Even if they did show up, I never knew what to expect. Typical day involved getting to shop at 7 AM and then waiting around for the Supervisor to arrive. He arrives, responsibilities are delegated and off we go to the Sphinx. On some days I was at the Sphinx for 45 minutes while guys made multiple trips into the store. to be clear, there a few guys that I became friends with, I learned plenty about erosion control, and enjoyed the work. There was some other stuff that went along with the job that was not related to me throughout the hiring process that made some days a bit difficult. Having to motivate temporary day laborers was not something I enjoyed. Maybe things have changed over there. Maybe not. Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut if you're considering working with them.
