Althea Technologies is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Control Assistant - Microbiology. This position is responsible for conducting routine analysis of raw materials. The Sr. QC Assistant – Micro may focus in a specialized area and provide routine analysis and testing according to standard operating procedures in any of the following areas: in process and finished formulations, environmental monitoring, microbiology assays including bioburden and growth promotion.

Responsiblities:

  • Writes transfer protocols.
  • Samples, releases and reconciles raw materials.
  • Compiles data for documentation of test procedures.
  • Responsible for standardization and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Reviews data obtained for compliance specifications and reports abnormalities.
  • Initiates revisions to current GMP/SOP guidelines.
  • Performs employee gown qualifications.
  • Sends colony samples to contract testing lab for identification.
  • Performs environmental monitoring within QC laboratory, manufacturing suites, clean rooms, and fill/finish operations. Performs colony enumeration of EM samples.
  • Oversees routine environmental action level reports and investigations.
  • Receives and approve incoming API.
  • Performs bioburden and growth promotion testing.
  • Analyzes data and results and presents conclusions to supervisor.
  • May troubleshoot data and testing processes.
  • May train lower level personnel on quality control methods and SOPs.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in a Life Sciences discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum two - four (2-4) years of relevant experience in laboratory or quality control.
  • Ability to perform testing in a highly accurate and reproducible manner.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, manufacturing, machine operations, troubleshooting, and data entry.
  • Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed directions in a laboratory environment.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
