About Alton Memorial Hospital

Midwest Occupational Medicine (MOM) and Alton Memorial Hospital are working together to improve business-related health services in the Alton area. MOM is now providing occupational health-care services at Alton Memorial Hospital and has assumed responsibility for the Hospital's occupational health service. "With our new office at Alton Memorial Hospital, we can offer greater convenience for our customers in the Alton area," says George Dirkers, MD, a specialist in occupational medicine and MOM founder. "Our clients also have access to the resources and services of Alton Memorial Hospital."

Ron McMullen, president of Alton Memorial Hospital, says the change in service provides area businesses with greater access to physicians with expertise in occupational medicine.

MOM offers a full continuum of health services for the business community, including:


physicals
treatment and case management of on-the-job injuries
OSHA testing and evaluation
drug and alcohol testing
consulting and onsite services MOM staff is available to assist occupational health customers at Alton Memorial Hospital from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours and on weekends, urgent care for work-related injuries is provided in the Hospital's emergency department. Emergency Department staff and MOM work closely to coordinate after-hours care of injured employees.

In addition to urgent care, the Hospital continues to provide a full array of examinations, testing and therapy services for injured workers.

MOM has served the business community with health services since 1992. In addition to the new location at Alton Memorial Hospital, MOM provides medical services in Wood River and Belleville. The Alton office can be reached at 618.463.7292.
