Alvis House, a local nonprofit human services organization, specializing in community corrections programs for adult offenders, is seeking applicants for a Sex Offender Clinician, located at the new Terry Collins Reentry Center, in Chillicothe, Ohio.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in social work (MSW), counseling, or psychology, and 1-2 years’ exp. in sexual offender treatment counseling; Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent clinical licensure. In addition, Chemical Dependency Certification/ licensure preferred.
The selected candidate will oversee and provide clinical services for clients in a halfway house setting, including sexual offender treatment counseling, cognitive behavioral and substance abuse programming, life skills education, and assessment and referral for services; serve as primary point of contact for PREA-related incidents involving in-house clients; facilitate groups, individual counseling sessions; ensures ongoing use of cognitive-based therapeutic concepts between staff and clients; participate in staff meetings, treatment team meetings; guide staff with community-based referrals for clients (e.g., mental health, addiction services); conduct clinical assessments.
