Great place to work
Assistant Branch Manager (Former Employee), New York, NYJune 24, 2013
Pros: great employees and customers
Cons: non management union
The hardest part of working at Amalgamated bank is dealing with upper management. My co-workers were great to work with, the most enjoyable part of working is cross selling to the customer cause amalgamated have some good products. The hardest part of the job is system problems all the time. The work at amalgamated is more hand on you learn more because – more... it's a small bank with less department – less

Family Environment Flexible Managers
Senior Trust Portfolio Administrator (Former Employee), New York, NYJanuary 3, 2013
Pros: family environment
A typical day at work is filled with various communications with brokers, investment managers, portfolio managers, and internal departments. I learned a lot about the trade support process and it's relation to the stock market and trading. Management creates a family like atmosphere and the co-workers are all very nice to one another. The hardest part – more... of the job has more to do with the bad economy than it does with the work itself. The most enjoyable part of the job is the people you get to work with are very friendly and courteous. – less

Productive and learning process daily, without the ping pong table.
Bank Teller (Former Employee), Bronx, NYJune 25, 2012
Got to work on time, serve the customers, prove cash at end of day.
Good customer service is a plus for any company to succeed.
Co-workers were pleasant and sometimes helpful.
My job was to be there on time, and to achieve my best.
Most enjoyable part of the job, serving the customers with a smile and for the customers to reciprocate.

Little recognition for good employees
Branch Manager VP (Former Employee), Brooklyn, NYMarch 20, 2012
This bank to me needs to take better care of the employees who give there all to this company and to me all rules do not apply for each worker. The communication between each department is not the greatest. They have let people go without warning of any problems and have lost a lot of good workers over a period of time.
