Not a good place to work
Sr. SME (Former Employee) –  Atlanta, GAMarch 30, 2012
The billing portion of T-mobile was sold to Amdocs. The first thing they did was outsource the work to India to make a profit. They do not care what your opinion is about anything. People with 20 years in their current jobs were let go after they cross trained people in India. Not good at all.
Pros
benefits, people
Cons
no chance for advancement, no raises, outsourcing

Run Away
Manager (Former Employee) –  ChicagoMay 23, 2015
to keep the long story short, this company works as follows,
Directors and Managers are always protected
If they screw up something, then it will be immediately delegated to Team Leads or SMEs
In case someone has to be fired, it will be either of them, who has absolutely no responsibility about what has got screwed up
Pros
squeezing you to the last drop
Cons
Working over 60 hours a week

Dynamic fast pace environment
Group leader - Project manager (Current Employee) –  Richardson, TXMay 11, 2013
A typical day consists of team status, interaction with different stakeholders to collect and discuss information and risks, analyzing data and reporting to management. In many of the days it will include defining new processes and procedures, and from time to time writing requirements to new tools. as a manager I devote significant time to team training and development.

The biggest challenge is communicating with teams from different locations (India, Israel, Mexico etc.'), different time zones and different cultures via phone.
Pros
fast pace, collegial, stimulating and interesting.
Cons
poor work life balance

Executive assistant in two location, virtual assistant for the EVP, onsite work with multiple teams, ATT -oversight and I-9 responsibility
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Chesterfield, MOApril 17, 2012
Days were always varied and reacting to specific need created priorities requiring flexibility and problem solving in the US and understanding cultures in the International group

You can have the respect of colleagues, a great work ethic with successful project completion and still find yourself out of work when teams are eliminated to balance the budget.

International colleagues and team building with assistants in the US was co-operative, life altering and energizing.

Hardest part of the job came with scheduling international meetings-one in India, another in middle east, another in an airport between flights and 5 others in various US cities. Creativity and help from assistants to get their colleagues engaged was a life lesson. The person that you helped last week, will reciprocate at a time you least expect because of the relationships you trust.

My greatest joy was setting up meetings for the people that came to our campus for a visit. Learning about other cultures, how we shared goals gave me a new appreciation of international business.
An unexpected gift often arrived representing their team and the gratitude they had for the work we accomplished on their behalf. It was a very unique experience.
Pros
intense learning opportunity, bright, creative people to work with, good salary and benefits
Cons
available to colleagues 24-7 blackberry, severance packages do not replace work you loved

employees discriminated openly, especially when being promoted
Senior QA Consultant (Former Employee) –  Richardson, TXFebruary 26, 2015
People in charge are blatantly ignorant, still they are given promotion just because they are from the motherland - rather than promote someone who has worked hard for it.

No supervision on Management level
Senior RF Engineer (Current Employee) –  VirginiaAugust 6, 2014
There is no supervision on Management level, my mean is supervision on how the managers behavior is with the personnel. So, nobody asked them why did you promote an inexperience/un-knowledgeable person and why did not promote a good engineer. So, everything good is for a special group that are in the same side of managers even they are not good in terms of their performance and knowledge.
Pros
low insurance costs
Cons
terrible management culture

Company provides poor training.
Working pressure is small.
There is only small politics there compared to big company AT&T.

It is not a hectic role, but it is fun to work there and also not really a place to learn much. There is also lot of nepotism going on.

Accounting Assistant
Acct Assistant (Former Employee) –  Chesterfield, MOAugust 20, 2013
I was resonsible for setting up new suppliers, inter-company invoices, 1099's, PO receiving for all service and rent PO's.

We used an outside sub-contractor module. I had to reconcile the bills and do spot checks on the hours nd the rate using Vlookups.

The management was poor. But, I like my co-workers.

The hardest part was sitting in meetings with my boss.

The most enjoyable part was that we were to talk an hour lunch and we were close to about a 1000 places to eat.
Pros
good health insurance
Cons
64 mile ddrive each day

Good work experience, will learn independence.
Senior ADBA and Software Expert (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILMay 16, 2014
A typical day will start with responding to email requests to deal with issues that have developed overnight. This is a global company so you are interacting with people from all over the world. Once issues have been dealt with, then one can focus on scheduled work usually involving Database Admin. There can be 2 - 3 meetings throughout the work day.

All work and meetings are done remotely.

The people involved in the day-to-day work effort are from both AT&T and AMDOCS.

Hardest part sometimes is the unpredictability of the work.

Most enjoyable part of the job is the learning experience and overcoming challenges.
