Dynamic fast pace environment
Group leader - Project manager (Current Employee), Richardson, TXMay 11, 2013
Pros: fast pace, collegial, stimulating and interesting.
Cons: poor work life balance
A typical day consists of team status, interaction with different stakeholders to collect and discuss information and risks, analyzing data and reporting to management. In many of the days it will include defining new processes and procedures, and from time to time writing requirements to new tools. as a manager I devote significant time to team training – more... and development.

The biggest challenge is communicating with teams from different locations (India, Israel, Mexico etc.'), different time zones and different cultures via phone. – less

Cons: poor management
expected to work weekends at whim for no particular reason. sometimes team lead didn't show up til later & had no assignments. not compensated for any extra work. Co-workers were excellent...Amdocs lost a lot of good people due to lack of respect for their employees.

very demanding organisation but exciting and challenging to work here
Subject Matter Expert (Former Employee), Chicago, ILFebruary 21, 2013
Pros: learnt to perform under pressure
Cons: no work life balance
Any typical day would start with a meeting with managers and then the work would flow in a way that one had to struggle for takinga short lunch break. Overall the work culture, though very demanding, was actually exciting.

Bizarre
Senior SME (Former Employee), UKFebruary 8, 2013
Pros: great place to give up and let yourself go to seed. nobody will notice.
Cons: too many to list, but here's a the top five: poor management, poor pay, broken methodology, no career prospects, culture of fear
The strangest company I've ever worked for. How so many people can achieve so little over such a long period of time I'll never understand. They're crippled by a bizarre pseudo-Agile methodology called "Galileo", central to which is a dreadful micromanagement tool called TeamPlayer. Everyone is a slave to TeamPlayer - devs keeping it up to date, managers – more... trying to extract meaning from the mass of useless data. Nobody's allowed to criticise the system though. Emperor's New Clothes is the order of the day.

It seems everyone is paralysed there. Nothing ever happens, yet everyone is so busy all the time. If I were CEO I'd just admit defeat and wind the business up - nothing of note is ever going to emerge from this confused mass of control freaks, ladder climbers and forelock tuggers.

What saddens me most is the number of obviously bright people that work there. What a total waste of talent. – less

Good empowerment, exposure to customers and various cultures, Opportunity to manage over 1000 experts
Head of SI services and Consulting India (Former Employee), Pune, MHFebruary 3, 2013
Pros: empowerment, managerial opportunities, relocation opportunities
Cons: poor assignment system, which causes excellent people to leave the company
Amdocs is an excellent company to work for. However, there is no systematic and company wide view of real talents, which causes excellent people to leave the company while average performers are still with the company.

Great Place to work it feels like a Family
Senior System Support Analyst Group Lead (Former Employee), Richardson, TXAugust 10, 2012
Pros: site events, family 1st feeling, nice work environment
Cons: salary
I was there for around 12yrs and it was a very very nice experience. My co-workers where the best I've ever had the pleasure to work with over my 17yr career. Hardest part may have been traveling overseas and not able to be with your family.
I look forward to going to work everyday.

Pros: working with the t-mobile technical team was fabulous
Cons: communication and interpersonal relationship
Horrible. No regard for human rights.
Work is non-stop, uncoordinated, on the fly, whenever they seem to think something needs to be done.
