Sr. SEM / Digital Marketing Manager (Former Employee) – Orange, CA – August 18, 2016
Company has a very competitive salary base. If you're into the finance industry this may be the place for you. There is a cut throat vibe so I recommend you know your position well as the company will lay you off if not performing.
SUPERVISOR (Current Employee) – CORPORATE OFFICE – July 25, 2016
American Advisors Group is by far the best lending institution on the earth!
This company invest in their employees from training them to guiding and helping employees to promote to higher positions. AAG provides a great work life balance and is extremely involved in the lives of seniors and adhering to the core values of the company.
Desktop Support Tech (Former Employee) – Orange, CA – May 30, 2016
It was probably one of the best jobs I've ever had and it payed well, also 99.9% of the coworkers where great people and very fun, unfortunately there's always that one person that makes you wonder how in the world is he still working here. I always try to befriend everyone but this guys seems to hate my existence. but over all the job was great and it was fun. and the department manager always bought us food which is a plus.
great pay, free lunches all the time, Automatic Coffee Vending Machine
that one human that hates everyone... cant eat in the IT department
Marketing Manager (Current Employee) – Orange, CA – March 25, 2016
AAG is a great company to work for. Never before have I felt so empowered and inspired. The exec team is constantly looking for ways to improve benefits, communication and the company overall. I feel like I've found a home here - there are always challenges, but we have a great team to overcome and we all work together.
Imagine what it would be like to not only like going to work every day, but WANTING to go to work every day.
Company culture, fun activities, regular company meetings and communication, good compensation, work/life balance
Vacation and sick time are average, but still good and management is great about work/life balance.
Mortgage Loan Officer (Former Employee) – New York, NY – August 15, 2016
Keep it simple stay away. It seems like the company post there own reviews online because a lot of the 5 star reviews seem fake. If you look at the Cons on a lot of the reviews it says something like this "Vacation and sick time are average, but still good and management is great about work/life balance" or "Not enough time in the day". I just wanted to make sure that you have been warned.
To start out they will tell you the first year you will make less because you need to get your licenses. They will tell you after one year you will make a lot of money between 95k-120k or something like that. The reality is if you are making 40k you are doing very well.
They pay you 9$ per hour hourly rate they ask you to submit 8 loans per month you are lucky if 2 of them close after 6 months. Management lives in a dream world claiming you could make a 6 figure salary in no time. They decide who they will give the leads to so they will tell you everyone gets 40 leads per month its also not true.
Also the majority of the employees get a warning notice if they don't hit the companies goals another way to harass its employees. If they fire you you will get almost nothing on all the loans that still have not closed.
Desktop Support (Former Employee) – Orange, CA – July 10, 2015
Configuring Microsoft Surfaces, Laptops and desktops. trouble shooting applications that are 3rd party. Setting up and moving equipment on a daily basis. Some of the management are good to work with and are friendly and happy in general. Co-Workers are not easy to work with because of unprofessional demeanor. The hardest part of the job was watching and hearing about the harassment going on and no one (Hr) doing anything to resolve it. The best part of the job was learning new Technology and helping resolve the technical problems for the employees.
Intake Coordinator (Current Employee) – Scottsdale, AZ – June 5, 2015
Reviewing emails, updating partners as to where their loan stands, requesting information needed to submit to underwriting. Fun working environment. Co-workers I've become close with, we love what we do and that feeds to our partners. The hardest part is calming down partners when they are upset. The atmosphere, very laid back.
short lunch, unwilling to let us know what is in the future
Loan Officer (Current Employee) – New York NY – May 14, 2015
I am currently an employee of AAG and the culture of the company is what enticed me to join. There is a great opportunity to grow within the company (I have seen first hand multitple individuals who have been promoted since I have been employed since Oct 14'). The people who work for AAG are energetic and hard working individuals.
I even had the opportunity to meet the CEO of AAG who is just as motivated and enthusiastic and most importantly charismatic.
For those who were former employees and put in bad reviews, were obviously not fit for the culture of AAG.
Imaging Specialist (Current Employee) – Orange, CA – July 18, 2015
At AAG, i work on the mail, scanning it into our system. I have learned to use time management while working at AAG because due to the high volume of mail, it takes more than one person and it cannot be done in an 8 hour period. Many of my co-workers are helpful but there are those few who refuse to help.
Manager (Current Employee) – Orange, CA – May 27, 2015
AAG is NOT your typical mortgage company which is what makes it a great place to work! The work/life balance is stressed big time fostering a great caring culture.
AAG is involved in the community and encourages employee engagement. Most companies do not care about Corporate Social Responsibility and it is a testament to the great intentions of this organization.
Additional pros: Casual work environment, positive employees, Great training, accessible resources to grow within the company, fully engaged management, Gives Back to the community, work life/personal life balance, empowerment from leadership, job security if you're doing your job, Events to engage employees
Positivity, Ethical, Caring, Gives Back, Great Leadership
Technology needs improvement, healthcare could be better.
Reverse Mortgage Consultant (Former Employee) – Kennesaw, GA – March 10, 2015
This job is not recommended to people looking for a professional career. The employees are not valued assets at AAG. Rather, they are expendable and forced to adapt to the ever changing company policies and pay plans. Management actually discourages prior mortgage experience, and encourages employees to bend the truth by omitting certain elements of the product from the sales presentation.
CSR (Former Employee) – Orange, CA – January 27, 2015
This place is by far the worst place to work for. Nothing but Harassment and hostile environment in departments. There is no place for advancement. Human recourse is not there for you when you need them. This is not an equal opportunity place as they say they are. They expect so much and don't pay what you should be paid.
AAG provides a wonderful working environment for their employees
Loan Officer (Former Employee) – Kennesaw, GA – January 31, 2015
AAG is very committed to helping senior citizens obtain their dreams for enjoying their retirement years, as well as helping them stay in their homes without fear of foreclosure. I felt honored to work at such a wonderful company with such high ethical standards!
Sales Associate (Current Employee) – Orange, CA – July 10, 2014
Really motivated employees working hard with customer service a top priority. It can be long hours sometimes during the busy season, but everyone is understanding with balancing kids and family and we make a work/life balance work. The team bonds are good, and you really lean on each other for advice and assistance and what is and isn't working.
Senior Loan Processor (Former Employee) – orange ca – December 16, 2013
work day would consist of 8-10 hours a day with some saturdays. Although i have mortgage experience i learned about the reverse mortgage product. this company was a reverse mortgage lender. I worked well with my co workers i did feel there was room for improvemnt with management. The most enjoyable part of my job was to close the loans for the customer, there were some that were in desperate need of the moneys. And to be able to assist them with that was a great thing.
Productive and busy workplace with "Team Player" environment
