American Crystal Sugar Company is a Minnesota agricultural cooperative corporation. The Company is owned by approximately 2,900 sugarbeet growers in the Minnesota and North Dakota portions of the Red River Valley. The Company operates in two segments: sugar and leasing. During the fiscal year ended August 31, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company operated – more... five sugarbeet processing factories in the Red River Valley and one in Sidney, Montana. During fiscal 2008, the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sidney Sugars Incorporated (Sidney Sugars), owned two sugarbeet processing facilities. During fiscal 2008, the Company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Crab Creek Sugar Company (Crab Creek), controls the long-term production of sugar at a sugarbeet processing facility at Moses Lake, Washington.
