With general supervision, performs mechanic duties in the maintenance and repair semi-trailers, tractors, and forklifts and other mechanical equipment primarily used in the facility. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cutting, grinding, welding, measuring, riveting, using hand and power tools, working on ladders and on top of trailers.
Performing brake jobs, repair and replacement of support gear, suspension, understructure, side skin, roofing, doors and lock rods, interior repair such as decking walls and ceilings, lube and change oil filters.
Clean-up, general housekeeping, receiving and stocking parts and supplies.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to determine the extent of work or repair needed.
Ensures the quality and expediency of work performed.
Minimum of (1-3) year working in a maintenance environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of welders and cutting torches.
Valid driver's license.
Employee must have the ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
Effectively communicate, present information and respond to inquiries from management, coworkers, customers and the general public.
Employee must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations in a professional fashion.

Stand, stoop, twist, walk, and lie on their back on a maintenance dolly and reach with the hands and arms.
Talk and hear.
Regularly move objects or parts weighing in excess of (50) pounds.
Intermittently lift and or move parts or objects weighing in excess of (25) pounds at arms length lying on their back on a maintenance dolly while installing parts to a vehicle or machine.
Regularly kneel while holding parts or objects weighing in excess of (25) pounds.
Regularly move into and out of cramped spaces while making needed repairs to vehicles and machinery.
Work with motorized machinery and their moving parts.
Have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions varying from +80 degrees Fahrenheit to –50 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the course of a work shift or season.
