Responsibilities:

The primary function of the Recruiter/ HR Generalist is to take a “hands-on” ownership role in building and developing our Human Resources, Company Licensing and Compliance, and Talent Acquisition Department. The Recruiter/ HR Generalist is a dynamic role that involves the accountability and implementation initiatives across several facets of the organization. This is a high visibility position and the Recruiter/ HR Generalist will report directly to the CEO.

Core Recruiting Duties:

  • Create a recruiting culture with an insatiable appetite for acquiring, retaining, and developing top talent
  • Manage the full life cycle of recruitment process for both employee candidates and field service subcontractors
  • Work harmoniously with our hiring managers towards the successful attainment of monthly hiring needs
  • Engage with hiring managers to conduct initial needs assessment and create accurate, well-written position specifications/ requirements
  • Research, recommend, and implement new sources for attracting active and passive candidates.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews of potential candidates, demonstrating ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences through high offer-to-interview ratios.
  • Conduct reference, background, and pre-employment drug screens
  • Analyze ROI of recruiting efforts by source and cost, including retention and performance of new hires
  • Build and maintain networks of potential candidates through pro-active market research and on-going relationship management
  • Implement ATS while making continual improvements towards automation and functionality
  • Participate in special projects/ recruiting initiatives including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques and leveraging internal sources of talent

Core HR Generalist responsibilities:

  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors
  • Manage Alarm Company License requirements at the State and Local jurisdiction levels in several U.S. markets
  • Manage Alarm Technician subcontractor license/certifications requirements at the State and Local jurisdiction levels in several U.S. markets
  • Create and implement employee engagement and employee recognition programs; analyze effectiveness for both the qualitative and quantitative benefits for each program
  • Administer employee engagement surveys
  • Takes active role in company’s “health and wellness” plan
  • Make continual improvements to our new-hire orientation and training processes
  • Update Employee Handbook and Subcontractor Agreement as necessary

Skills/ Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or similar studies
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred
  • Verifiable career history
  • Progressive career path with 5+ years of Human Resources and full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Experience implementing and improving an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Experience implementing an HRIS preferred
  • HR Generalist position or HR leadership capacity at current/ most recent employer
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, results driven team environment
  • Ability to develop and execute recruiting and sourcing strategies including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management
  • Ability to provide a perspective that embraces long term goals that are well balanced against short and intermediate term needs
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to discern core competencies as they relate to the position requirements in order to evaluate and refer the best candidates to hiring managers
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Concise and direct communication skills with candidates and all levels of management
  • Proven capabilities writing well defined job descriptions/ specifications
  • Proven success working for a start-up business with a quick scale-up growth plan preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead by example
  • Strong work ethic and “do whatever it takes” attitude
  • Sense of humor
  • Ability to take a proactive approach with assignments
