Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Austin, TXOctober 16, 2017
The austin location office is a very toxic place to work; you are over worked and under paid treated like you are unworthy for advancement. Spoken too as if you a 2yr old child not an adult.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) –  Globe, AZOctober 6, 2017
Some days are busy, and others very slow. Never kmow what to expect walking in. All coworkers are pleasant and easy to get along with. Managers stay connected with all employees to ensure everything is working and flowing properly.

Respiratory Care Provider (Former Employee) –  Rochester, NYOctober 4, 2017
Enjoyed working independently. Also enjoyed teaching one on one with patients and family members. Lots of traveling throughout Rochester and surrounding areas. Helped with patient discharges from the hospital to patients homes. Worked throughout the community setting up and teaching patient s how to use respiratory equipment. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to help patients avoid trips to the emergency room. The hardest part of the job was being on call every other weekend...............................................
Pros
flexibillity
Cons
lots of driving

Patient Advocate and Sales (Current Employee) –  Nashville, TN 37211October 3, 2017
Training was a nightmare/non-existent. No consistence of information. THe business was sold to another company and the new company froze all pay increases, cut any paid vacation out and made the environment almost unbearable to work in.
Pros
I had a good supervisor
Cons
everything else

Medical Documentation Specialist (Former Employee) –  Fort Smith, AROctober 1, 2017
My job was Medical Documentation. It was rewarding to know that I got the documentation properly filled out by doctors so that it could be submitted for payment to the company. Hardest part of the job was dealing with poor management. Most enjoyable was the satisfaction of knowing that I could prepare, process and submit claims for payment in a very timely and accurate manner.
Pros
I could be out of the office and meet the doctors and staff
Cons
Poor management

Senior Compliance Auditor (Former Employee) –  Brentwood, TNSeptember 27, 2017
No Comment at this time. This company was bought out by Lincare and I'm not sure about the working environment under the Lincare ownership. There are still some great people that work at American HomePatient but so many have been downsized already.

Managed Care Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Newark, DESeptember 26, 2017
This company had an incredibly high turnover rate due to low pay. People came and learned medical billing and then moved on to other companies to earn more money.

Medical Billing Specialist (Former Employee) –  Plainview, TXSeptember 20, 2017
The location that I worked for had an amazing management team. They were very understanding of family life at home and were willing to work with you as long as you were willing to work just as much in return. I would say the only downside was the low pay. The pay also does not increase often or much at all.
Pros
family oriented
Cons
low pay; high insurance

Medical Biller (Former Employee) –  Plainview, TXSeptember 19, 2017
Management was never there. People came and went as they pleased. I worked part time with no benefits. Was told I would be a full time employee but was not offered anything full time until I turned in my two weeks notice. Hardest part of the job were the deadlines that had to be met. Training was horrible, with all the work that was piled up there was no time to fully train new employees.
Pros
Flexible Schedules
Cons
Not training, low pay
