Pros: work life balance
Cons: overwhelming at times
A typical day at work is starting the day reviewing emails left from the afternoon/evening before and any emails from management. I would then pull a pipeline of investor locks expiring that day to make sure they either get purchase or extended. As the day starts the lock desk opens and locks start coming in at around 9:00 am. The phones start ringing – more... with loan officers and processors asking questions or needing assistance. They typically need help changing something on the lock whether it's changing a loan amount or changing the program to extending the locks. These questions come thru email and phone calls. When the questions get more complicated the other members of the lock desk typically ask for me for assistance as I was the lead of the department. The hardest part of my job with being the department lead was assisting disgruntled loan officers. This was not an everyday occurrence however it was challenging. I loved my job. The best part was being able to assist the loan officers in the changes that they needed and being able the build those relationships with them. I loved the challenge of the busy days and being able to help several loan officers thru out the day. – less
