As an employee-owned company, AMERICAN SYSTEMS prides itself on promoting a balanced work-life environment through a culture based on these five simple elements:
Social Responsibility – AMERICAN SYSTEMS has long supported charities that focus on Military, Education, and Healthcare. From volunteerism to leading at local and national charities, AMERICAN SYSTEMS employee-owners give back.
Teamwork- employee-owners are encouraged to “step outside” of their job functions to join collaborative committees to promote diverse thinking and cross-company contributions. For example, employee-owners serve on committees like the ESOP Employee Education Committee which resulted in a First Place award for excellence in ESOP communications.
Leadership – starting at the top, the CEO instills the value of leadership by traveling to all office locations (bi-annually) to promote an “open door” policy. Employee-owners are empowered through a variety of electronic and personal channels for direct, two-way communication.
Continuous Improvement – as “owners”, employees uphold the company’s ISO 9001 registration through daily performance and participation in annual internal customer satisfaction surveys.
Balance – The company promotes work-life balance through flex-time, telecommuting, and a generous leave package including time off for family emergencies, and life-changing events. Our Employee Assistance Program helps to promote critical services which include referrals for childcare, care-giving and housing options for elderly dependents. – less
