Very Poor Professional Experience
Recruiter (Former Employee), Boca Raton, FLJanuary 5, 2014
This is a call center job at its outset. 80-100 calls/day at the very least. Some people are polite and helpful, but most are doing their own thing. You essentially have 90 days to start producing or you're out, something that is not told to you when you start. New people start literally every week and people leave/get fired every week. Very poor work – more... environment to come into.

They are not up front about the job at first, or the expectations that you will be held to. Some employees steal leads from others - especially new employees. There is NO job security at all.

If you are looking to do recruiting, I would suggest looking elsewhere. – less

Great place to work, I feel like I really matter!
Sales (Current Employee), Boca Raton, FLDecember 20, 2013
Pros: incentives for performance are very achievable
Cons: competitive business, always have to be on my game
I just celebrated my 5 year anniversary. The best decision I ever made was to leave the environment I had been working in and join this company where I have a career, not a job. My co-workers are always pleasant, management works hard along side of us and is always supportive. I am expected to work hard and get results but I am given the tools and motivation – more... to do that. I feel good when I go home at night because I gave my best next to others who also gave their best. – less

Worst company ever
Recruiter (Former Employee), Boca RatonJuly 8, 2013
Cons: low pay, hard to make commission, rude employees
I briefly worked here and would never recommend this company to anyone. They watch you clock in and out. The seasoned recruiters get the best leads and are allowed to steal from rookies. I had two nurses stollen from me. The manager is rude and condensending. I have never worked for someone who treated me so poorly. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Programmer (Current Employee), Boca RatonJuly 1, 2013
Pros: flexibility, opportunity to try new things
I've enjoyed working at American Traveler .. it's a professional, achievement-oriented environment, and -- in my experience -- presents lots of opportunities to try new things and enhance your skills. The owners are smart business people who really know the industry inside and out. It's apparent that they value customer service and do whatever they – more... can to enhance the clients' experience with the company. – less

I have completed 2 internships at American Traveler and it is a great place to work!
Intern (Current Employee), Boca Raton, FLJune 27, 2013
Pros: great work environment
Interning at American Traveler is a great experience. You will always have a project that is meaningful and has an impact. No running coffee or filing papers here! The co-workers are always friendly and easy to approach. Having a can do attitude is an absolute must as you will be challenged with new task in which you'll learn new skills or new ways – more... of doing things. Working at American Traveler is an absolute pleasure and a great learning experience for interns. – less

NICURN (Former Employee), Mid-AtlanticOctober 26, 2012
Pros: none!
Cons: to many to list!
Leadership stinks! They lack vision, and direction. Fail to keep commitments. Regularly miss agreed upon scheduled meeting times.

Corporate nomenclature is suspect!

Online Marketing Manager (Current Employee), Boca Raton, FLSeptember 5, 2012
I have been working at American Traveler for over 6 yrs and I have been happy with the management team and the work environment. They have an open door policy and value their employees input on a daily basis. In addition, the consultants that work with the travel nurses and travel allied professionals are expert and have been through a very detailed – more... training process to offer the best customer service possible. – less

Loved placing nurses throughout the United States, Alaska & Hawaii
Recruiter / Sales Consultant (Former Employee), Boca Raton, FLAugust 12, 2012
Pros: making nurses happy.
Cons: being stuck in office all day.
See resume for job description. An inside sales position. Learned so much about the medical industry and the nursing industry. I thoroughly enjoyed placing nurses in their dream area of working and fulfilling a dream they have always wanted. It was so very rewarding. Co-workers were great. Management was good.
Was time consuming checking and making – more... sure all their credentials were in and current, and if not, pushing nurses to make deadlines. – less
