Provided great learning opportunities.
Cons: Inconsistent expectations from leadership
With this position I helped to recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer tutors to help children from under-represented populations. I also helped to double the size of their STEM summer camp for middle school children. I gave presentations at 50 different elementary schools and then participated in the acceptance process. I communicated with parents via mail, email, and phone calls. I coordinated with teachers, camp assistants and parents to help the summer camp run smoothly. I learned a lot about work flow and organization. The most enjoyable part of the job was recruiting; being able to talk to several different people. The most rewarding part was knowing that the lives of children were being changed in a positive way. The hardest part of the job was developing systems to improve work flow.
