We had to send in our applications and then there were two interviews on the phone with the coordinator and then the phone call welcoming you aboard.

There isn't really an interview process to be a team member. Once accepted you get a phone call where they ask some questions, but that isn't so much an interview. It's more to ensure you understand what the program is about. To be a team leader though, there is a standard interview process.

It was typically a phone interview but they ask basic questions on how did you find out about the program and what made you interested in applying for it

At every step, make sure you focus on your drive to help others, your selflessness and empathy. Be a fixer. The process will depend on whether you are applying to a place far away, or someplace locally. Two phone call interviews for the distance interviews, and usually one phone interview and in-person interview for a local one.
