Business Development Commercial (Former Employee) – Walnut Creek, CA – November 26, 2017
Following up status on clientele and future business.Always something to learn, most of all patients. Management was OK. Worked in fast pace environment, had synergistic team and management. Waiting for loan conditions and meeting them. Happy clients and knowing job well done!
Process Liaison (Michigan) (Former Employee) – High Point, NC – October 6, 2017
Set up new customer files after preliminary pre-approvals. Verified loan application details provided by client. Calculated income, verified employment and requested further documentation required by the underwriting department. Managed and directed all inbound calls to the appropriate party and scheduled phone/office appointments.
Became accustom to Microsoft 365 Outlook, Word & Powerpoint software. All previous Microsoft Office experience was with previous editions.
Excellent management a t both branch and corporate levels.
Friendly, helpful and dedicated staff.
The job requirements for the position I held were all simple tasks, once I became familiar with company software and systems that were slightly different than ones used in the past.
The most enjoyable part of the position personally was working within an exceptional staff environment.
Very well structured & managed. Great work environment.
Good place for sales people but complicated commission reports
Compliance Administrator (Former Employee) – Mesa, AZ 85203 – June 27, 2017
I would work for this company again. They have good support areas, but lack in some compliance areas. I would recommend this company, but keep your other options open. As is always the care in the mortgage industry.
Nice people to work with and friendly management
Incompetent HR department make some things difficult
It felt like high school. There were cliques and if you werent "in" you were definetly out!
Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator (Former Employee) – Tempe, AZ – May 17, 2017
Even the managers were part of the cliques.. If they didnt like you personally your work meant nothing. From what I hear, this varies by location. So beware, working with team A at one location could be a totally different experience than working with Team B at another location.. Or even at the same location with different teams. They let each team run independently so there is no continuity. I was required to work more hours then I was paid for and told that the per file bonus is what compensates for all the additional hours. I can say, it did not. There was some good, but the bad far out weighed any good. In my 20+ year mortgage career, this was the worst company I have worked for.. (morale wise at the very least). They say they are all about the customer but my experience showed thats not true, they only care about their numbers.
Lots of free lunches, some schedule flexibility, staff at the corporate office was always a pleasure to deal with
Required to work more hours then you are paid for. Cliques, just like high school, not "all about the customer"
Application Developer and Support (Former Employee) – Mesa, AZ – April 9, 2017
This was a wonderful opportunity for me to learn about myself and my limits and aspirations. They give lots of room for you to pursuit your dreams and better yourself. What you do on your down time really does teach you about what dreams you chase.
Senior Marketing Associate (Former Employee) – Kalamazoo, MI – March 27, 2014
Good company, good benefits, nice people. I was able to work a faily flexible schedule. I enjoyed the balance of creating marketing collateral and crm admin, but I really enjoyed heading up crm upgrade.
Mortgage Loan Coordinator (Current Employee) – Del Mar, California – February 24, 2014
Amerifirst is an awesome place to work, albeit a lot of changes have been coming up recently. I make the best out of my workday and always do everything with a smile and a positive attitude. I handle all my files as if it was my personal loan. The importance of preserving a lasting relationship with our borrowers is always my ultimate goal. And, assisting my loan officers unconditionally.
Great culture, great knowledgeable people
Drive is far and bonus per file is no longer available
Focused on growth and supportive company to work for
Owner/founder of Dreamworks ActionCOACH & Consult (Former Employee) – Scottsdale, AZ – January 3, 2014
Overall, motivated and strong leadership for a small business. Successful and handling growth in tough times and juggling changes in the industry. Their main focus is to support their staff and create a productive producing environment and they are pretty acceptable at it.
I would work at AFI again, I enjoyed the people that I worked with and got along well with all of the employees, loan officers, managment
Senior DE Mortgage Underwriter (Former Employee) – Mesa, AZ – November 25, 2013
I enjoyed the 2 years that I worked at Amerifirst. I enjoyed the employees and it was a fun environment. I always exceeded my goals, got along with all fellow employees and management. I love a challenge, and I never had a difficult time juggling the work load. I would work weekends and evenings if needed to get the job done and exceed the 24 hour turn times. I would still be working hard at Amerifirst had the reduction force not necessary
Flexibility in the schedule, working from home, the Scottsdale office, the Mesa office
The only con I can think of is the medical prices per pay period
Happy Employee (Current Employee) – Mesa, AZ – February 21, 2013
I have found AmeriFirst Financial to be a wonderful place to work and a growing team of professionals. Everyone I've met who works either at the corporate office or some of the branches is warm, outgoing, hardworking, and welcoming. The company may not have the best benefit package (currently), but the work environment and perks make up for it. Also, their salaries are very competitive from what I've found in the job market.
great work perks (like some positions can work from home part time) and great people
health benefits are expensive. hoping that changes soon
Marketing Director (Former Employee) – Mesa, AZ – August 16, 2012
